New Bike to me

I just purcahsed a 94 vt1100, beautiful bike, Mustang seat, Vance and Hinse pipes, sounds awesome. I have one problem, when I am high in the RPM range and I let off the the throttleit back fires. I turn the idle up a bit and it doesnt do it as much now, but I think the cabs need to be adjusted. The previous owner, rejetted it after the pipes went on. Maybe a little carb adjusting??

Yeah ya fuckin Noob, search button.....and when you do you'll find so much shit that your silly Noob head will spin, and when it stops you still won't have a fuckin Noob clue.....so to ease the spinnin bean a bit, open up the air/fuel mixture screw(s) a tad bit, that will stop that back fire/ decel pop, if indeed it is a decel pop.....which from what you've described it just may be.....

Wow was there actually a bit of help in that quote?? Its amazing anyone asks any questions around here. I did search, but I was also introducing my bike at the same time in this post. My guess is that the people that answer posts with "Search fucking noob", really dont have a clue as to the answer of the qiestion in the first place, they are just post whoring!!!

yeah ya dip stick, the answers in that quote.....your mixture screws need to be adjusted...if you'd have searched and had any sense of what you were reading you'd have figured out that the air/fuel mix was to lean, after the rejet for the pipes and that that was the cause of the backfire at hard decel....so what do you want now, someone to come over and show you how to fix your shit???
The reason you get the "Search you fuckin Noob", is because this is a common question with people that just wanna ride and not know a fuckin thing except how to open the gas cap.......

Yes, he can be, but he's also knowleable as shit!!!!! So put up with his "old ways" and you will get what you need and then some. You do need to start with your mixture scews just as Mr. Dickhead mentioned (again, never mind his drininK), do that, be open minded and come back, tell us what you have and we'll take it from there. BTW, nice bike (not as nice as Mr. D(*&^%head) well you know his name by now.

Well I set both screws at 3 turns out and it is even worse, guess I'll try 2.5 turns out. The guy I bought it from put some sort of putty over the adjustment screws, i guess they were moving on him so he tried to put a stop to that. Is there a better fix than putting putty over the screws??

Read the posts under the search....the way the search button works is you type in a key word....like "mixture screw"....and take it from there....Chefboy.....you seat em lightly counting to where you started to where it seats then turn it out the same # then go a 1/4 turn out each time until the backfire/popping stops.....if you have dual carbs its a bit harder but listen and it'll come to ya.....
