im putting 16" apes on my 04 Aero, i got extended cables, im going to attempt it myself, anyone have experience with taking old cables off and replacing? how tough a job is it?

how much longer cables did you need to get for those 16" hangers? i have a 1998 shadow 1100 ace. i think i need to get +6 cables but im not totally sure. thanks man.

thanks 4 to 6 inch over stock cables will work but you still need to change out the brake line too.to replace cables you need to take off gas tank and air intake cover and neck covers.its pretty tight when you get down to the carb.good luck

I didn't have to take off the neck covers at all...? don't know why you would they have a notch for the cables to slide right thru...

do your cables bind at all with 4 or 6 in over stock... I put 10 in over stock and could have went with 8 in but I have plans on adding risers and didn't want to screw myself in lenght... but I would think the cables would bind up being that short... or did you run them behind the Triple Tree...? that would give you some lenth... I ran mine in front...
