that I can commute on the bike with. I'm checking out the Timbuk2 bags, specifically http://www.timbuk2.com/tb2/catalog/categories.t2?categoryId=7 this one but wondering what you guys/gals use when you commute to work with a laptop.

I tend to prefer a backpack style when I am on my bike. Keeps it centered and wont let it move around when you are cornering.
Something like this.

Arent most tank bags held on by strong magnets ? Would that be a good idea ?

Are you going to leave that laptop somewhere if you get caught in the rain ?You can wrap it in a plastic bag . If you trust that at 50mph with what ever the wind is blowing at . If you ride passengers a backpack is a bad idea .Do you need to carry more than just a laptop ?I have a bag like that that I ride with . I just don't put anything valueble in it .The top has gaps . I find leaves and bugs in that bag after a ride sometimes .

all things that need to be considered. On rainy days I will likely jsut drive the cage in to work. If a rain storm comes up in teh middle of the day I can always leave the lappy and bag at work. The Timbuk2 bags are somewhat waterproof from what I undersand, however I wouldn't test it out on my work computer! Don't commute to work with a passenger, but if I pick her up on the sya home she can wear whatever bag I have the rest of the way. Not much more than the laptop, maybe a folder, some documents, an mp3 player, typical man-purse stuff.
