View Full Version : Harely Stickers

I had to share this. I was riding home and came up behind a tiny Geo Metro. One the back window was a huge Harley Davidson sticker. I started laughing my ass off. The guy driving it was around 300lbs, with a shaved head and goatee. I was thinking, he spent all his money on a harley and could afford anything better than a Metro. It was also a beautiful day out, and he's riding in this tiny cage. The harley must be broke down.:laugh4:

I've seen that same thing. Can't remember what car the guy was in, but something really small. He also had a passenger who was pretty big and mean looking as well.
I'm also seeing more and more Orange County Choppers stickers on cars.

This kid I used to work with (he got himself canned) was bragging about his bike he got, a harley sportish type. He alternated this tale with his other story, about how he lost his license rolling over a van at thirty mph.
Did I mention that he got himself canned?

The only point he's got is on the top of his head...
If you said that to any american, yes - they would shoot you. Despite being poor, ill-dressed, beat-up foreign car driving rednecks - they are trying to do SOMETHING to show some american pride.
True, maybe the rest of world (myself included) would appreciate them getting off wellfare and/or drugs, getting a job, and maybe wearing some decent clothes rather than living off the hard work of others via the governments provisions and putting up a sticker... but MY point is - poor, goverment using slackers or not, they're americans, and maybe all they're saying by displaying a 'proud to be american' sticker is they are happy to have been born into such provisions rather than being born into (lets say for example) Iraq.
Look at this, for example (true story, BTW): Yesterday I finished swapping engines on Melissa's 1996 Honda Civic (which may or may not have a 'proud to be american' sticker on it). It took me ALL DAY to finish the job. I was filthy - covered in dirt and grease, head to toe, and I was tired and hungry. I looked like poor "dirty white boy trash'.
After the job was done, I took the car for a test drive to make sure all was well. I decided to go through a Checkers drive through for a burger, and you know what? The people inside that drive through making only $7.75 an hour were looking down AT ME, shooting me the same look that I imagine you would be giving to the people in that "1896 Camry." I said nothing because I have RESPECT for them, despite thier lifestyle. All they did was look at me condescendingly, which gives me no right to shoot my mouth off.
Did they know that I looked that way because I just finished an engine swap, or that I'm driving a foreign car for the gas mileage, or that I work at a Nuclear Power plant making 5x's the money they make, or that I live in a nice neighborhood with a good family? NO. Guaranteed, if someone with a foreign accent saw me in that condition and said something like you would like to say, I'd pull them out the drive-through fucking window and beat em till they stopped moving.

i am doing almost every weekend yard work, dirty as hell, but i want something to achieve and i dont care what others are thinking, but the point is, dont be proud of something that you did not deserve, america is giving you a chance, to better yourself, to go to college, to get your own bussiness going, to help you, to give you enough to drive couple of cars, bikes etc. USE IT. people shouldnt get they lousy paychecks and run to spend it over the weekend on some beer and drugs, and comming monday they ask to borow a cigarrette bc the paycheck is gone, and i dont wana start on how much money they spend on children..
You get my point, bro?

You are looking down your nose at the guy in the beat up car and saying that he is trash and should not sport a "Proud to be an American" sticker on his car? who are you to judge him. Having a job and mowing your lawn to keep up some bullshit
appearances of upper middle class makes you better than the pour guy...what a crock of shit. A bunch of the guys (and girls) here make the remarks all the time about how the harley guys talk shit to you because you are not on a hog
and how they don't know anything. You get pissed when they judge you. Maybe you should look at your self before you
start flapping your gums.... get to know a guy before you judge him.

Agree about the commercial on the head thing. First thing I do when I buy anything is take the labels off. Call it stupid, but I'm not paying to advertise for some company, they have a marketing and advertising department to do that.
Always cracks me up those morons that buy the big Nike swoosh and put it in their back window. Don't think Nike really needs some gangsta punks advertising for them, but more power to them if they can get some suckers to pay to advertise for them.

Damn dudes this is about some goofy fuckers with a harley sticker. Can't we pick on retarded harley owners. Hell truth be told, he probly doesn't own a harley! Most people who wear HD T shirts or put the sticker in the back of the window, do not own a HD. When I had my Honda, people used to think it was cool until they found out it was a Honda. I would just ask them what they ride. They usually did not ride anything but the T shirt. I own a HD and do not own any bumper stickers or HD T shirts. I am a little disgusted at the classist un american remarks. "Send us you weak your tired and poor." What is up with all the " at least I am better than this poor person crap ". Let me guess.................. You are all christians too! It is nice to know that you are all so full of charity and love for your fellow man. And not just some white lower middleclass broke dick eletists with expensive motorcycle envy." You meet the classiest people riding a Honda." Cough cough......:milk:

Uh, Sin, it's "friendliest people on a Honda"
Personally, I don't wear any t-shirts that promote any type of bikes. Used to but I guess I just got over it. I agree that most of the folks wearing HD shirts don't ride, know nothing about riding and have never ridden (let alone own) a bike.
To each his own with their apparel and rides! I'll ride with you no matter what you ride and/or wear.

Some guy had a year-old Sportster for sale, out in his yard, and I stopped on my Shadow to look it over. The owner came out and said his wife was to short to ride it. I said, "shit... that's hard to believe...that bike looks look like it came off a fucking kiddie ride!" The guy got all huffy and said, "what do you mean?" I stepped back from the bike and said, "Look at the wheel base...and that skinny-ass front tire...man if you got that wheel in a pot hole...you'd fill the next one with your head." WIth that the dude just turned and went back inside his beat-up double-wide. I have to add...that a stock Sporty is really ugly, too...I've seen better looking bikes at Walmart!

LOL...Sporty's are ugly IMHO as well. Ever sit on one? I think the only reason folks buy them is to "own" a HD. Uncomfortable as hell. I'd rather ride a Rebel - have about the same wheel base and the Rebel is a balanced better.
I will give them props...some of HD's bigger bikes are nice - would love to have a Road King but I refuse to spend the $'s for something that's not at least oil cooled. Seen too many overheated in the summer around here - and I've never really felt welcomed in one of their stores so maybe I just don't fit "their" mold...oh well, my Honda dealer luvs me! LOL

I like sportys. Im a pretty good sized guy at 6'2 230, 215 on a cut lol. They sit nice especially when lowered and the 1200 has plenty of power. I really like the sleek tanks also. If I got a harley it would be a nightster.
I ride with a bunch of harley guys and they make fun of the guys that have all the harley gear and 5 harley stickers on thier cars also.
Just fyi wanda by design the oil acts to cool the harley motors. They are actually air/oil cooled even though they tipically have no external oil cooler.

I would not mind doing another ss750 project. But I think the next bike I am going to build for my girlfriend is an old Ironhead sporty chop. For the "Stupid aint cheap" guy, Brokedick aint attractive. Get over it. I still like Honda's. I just don't care for your attitude.

I know how a HD cools...however if you are not moving in traffic in 90+* weather, no air = no cool, bike will quickly overheat. An external oil cooler helps to diffuse that engine heat - not as good a liquid cooled but better than nothing.
Seen it happen too many times to want to deal with it.

Well I've owned a Sportster and a shadow at the same time and when I rode the shadow I felt cramped compared to the Sportster. The Sportster sounds better, has tons of more power and I have never had an issue with anything mechanical, something I can't say about my Shadow. To top things off the metal Sporty doesn't cost that much more than a plastic Shadow and if I sell it I not going to lose much money. The Shadow is a good looking bike but it just didn't have all the things I was looking for. I dont understand why some of you guys are so anti Harley Davidson, on the Harley site I'm on we don't bash Honda riders. I think most of you are just jealous because most people think are Harley's are a nicer bike. That's all:jamming:

Not necessarily true, Quite a few Harley riders give the metric guys a lot of shit.
The Harley Davidson Has gained a status of being the "best bike in the world".
That might have been true 20 yrs ago (leaks and all) but that can't be said
any more. But the Mass Majority has bought into the hype and idea that
if it ain't Harley it ain't shit. But you really can't blame someone for being ignorant
The average person does what they are told. Hell man just look at all the movies TV shows and magazines telling you that you must have a Harley to be cool, get the girl, Have friends or to just have any real satisfaction in you life. so when you
read the statments from the guys on this site bashing harley guys, look again most of the statments That I have seen are about the riders not the bikes.
futher more they are just getting even for all the years of the harley riders bashing them.
But thats just my two cents.
