after a little whil my hand goes a bit numb and cramps up a bit. If I'm riding on surface streets or whatever it's all good, as at stops and red lights and whatnot I can stretch my hand and "wake it up" a bit. Any suggestions for longer rides? Am I just gripping too tightly?

That's from checking out too many of Rheo's posts in the Eye Candy section!:wink_2:

Seriously though, do you wear padded gloves when riding? I have 2 sets, and I have the same problem when I wear one of the sets. It feels like there's too much padding in one area.

kuryakyn iso grips help and a throttle boss will help to.

www.kuryakyn.com for the ISO grips

You could also look into a throttle lock. There are two that I know of, the Vista cruise control ($30) and the breakeaway cruise control ($200)

I have the same problem, even after 10 minutes of riding. Talked to a doc a while back about it, carpal tunnel.

If you get a cruise control spend the extra money on the brakeaway. I have one and it's a lifesaver on long hiway rides. The best part is that it disengages when you pull the brake lever.

I get the same thing, but I've got an ongoing shoulder problem that aggrivates when I ride.
The Kuryakin ISO grips definitely do help. The throttle boss they make would also help with any fatigue (just haven't got around to getting it yet)
Here's a selection of grips and throttle locks for you: http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=750SG

If you don't have the Iso grips you can also look at a throttle rocker. I use one when I am on the hiqhway and take it off when riding in town. Come off and on in about 2 seconds. It makes a big difference if you don't go a throttle lock. If you do go a throttle lock listen to FF and get the good one.

Here is a link for a throttle rocker.

I say start with the mouth and use both hands .

hmmm, the ThrottleRocker seems like an affordable solution to try before jumping into the ISO grips (which look pretty nice, BTW!).

Thanks for the tips, yo! and Lisa, if you wanna practice your new technique a bit just let me know!!:tongue3:
