:bounce: I just bought a 96 VLX Vt600cd and the gas tank has some damage. Does anyone know if you can use the gas tank off of a different model shadow? I was wondering if the vt750 tank would work?

I've heard few people using Spirit 750 and ACE tanks with minor adjustment, and there's one using V Star tank. If you are looking for bigger volume, another option is to ask somebody to stretch the stock tank wider, and him to repair the damage at the same time.

:sasmokin: Do you know what kind of modifications you have to do for the spirit tank? I know the petcock is in a different place.
Tight bike by the way! :jamming: I am way envious! Just curious, how hard was it to switch out the rear fender?

Theres a guy named Anti-Hero using Spirit tank on his VLX. You can send him email, but maybe you'll need to register first. Shadowriders.net is the coolest place to hang out and the best source for Spirit 750. But for VLX, you may find a lot more specific info frm the other forum.
Thanks for your comp. Switch out the fender? you need to cut your rear sub frame under your stock rear fender, and fabricate a new fender with integrated strut. Mine is a custom work.
Good luck with your mods and post pictures when you're done :wink_2:

Are you referring to my bike? That is the stock tree with cut & raked neck.
For raked trees maybe you could check with Shadow Shack here:

Hope that helps.
Hey btw your ride looks kick ass!
