Whats the trick? I mean the bike looks F I N E, fine as is, but truth be known, I could use some more rubber on the road. I am hoping to get close to a 200, but I sure as hell don't see the room, though I did see video of an '86 with a 300. Extreme mod I am sure.:jamming:

I am not sure of the biggest size rear tire you can install on there. I'll bet a 180 on the stock rim or 200 with a VTX1800 rear spoke rim relace would work. But too go bigger, I'm sure there are people getting ready to make a new swing arm with a notch in it.

Well, I been takin’ a closer look and I just don’t see the room. I’ve got around 1cm clearance on the shaft side, and that’s with a 140. LMAO… couldn’t believe it was that small when I saw the numbers. Oh well, it’s not a problem, and yeah she looks pretty cool already, though we have further plans for sure.
On that note, can anyone point me in a good direction for new triple trees? Just wrapping the 8” spread I have is not going to do it. That and living in WV, I wanna get some more rubber on the front end. I’m not new to riding, but I am still not comfortable at a keyboard. Son I don’t know if it’s just me, but to find anything outside of o.e.m. parts for a first generation VT1100 ain’t easy. The plan has been to relocate the wiring, remove the dash/idiot lights, and for those who didn’t know, the fuse box sets atop the risers, so I have to move that. Replace the speedo, the new to have the necessary idiot lights in it. Then of course shield the upper tubes between the trees. Not a bad job, but I think to go for the fat boy front end and not actually stretch it, now THAT would be a NOOB move. So any idears???
:jamming: Then we can talk on these gel seats I'm hearin' about. Before my ass falls off.
