I'm 23 and just bought my first bike then stumbled upon this website on google. Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I'm so excited to be apart of this community! I've been lurking around for a while but never registered until today. I just bought a '01 Spirit 750. I've done a few cosmetic mods but no engine mods yet. I did do the hole saw mod today thanks to this website. I plan on doing a re-jet kit and new filter kit assembly. Well, looking forward to posting  :jamming:
here are some pics of my baby if anyone cares  ...

Now that's a classic statement right there (if clint, AirportFF, was still around, he'd be all over your spelling! :laugh4:). Every time I read one of your posts I always think back to your arrival on the site. But you stuck in there and dished it right back out.

So should the switch be in the ''on'' position only when riding and in the ''off'' position when sitting in the garage? What is so confusing about the question?

"the confusing about part" is . you should know that, how the fuck you think you gona ride the bike, if the gas is off, dude, those are common things . Please dont ask such questions, you are going to be bashed more then I.....

Check it:
The tab on your fuel knob should be pointing down when riding... This is the "on" position. If you're riding with it in the "on" position, and it starts to stall on you, you turn it so the tab is pointing up... This is the "reserve" position. That will allow you to get your ass to the gas station to fill-up again. Once you have the tank filled, you then turn the knob back to the "on" position, and ride on. If you forget to flip it back, and ride until it stalls on you again, you're shit out of luck! And yes, the "off" position is located right between the two, and should be used when you're not riding.
Hope this helps.
Now FUCK OFF, NOOB!
Welcome to the jungle.

Your first official mod should be a chrome fuel selector.

He should FIRST learn how to USE the fuel knob, grasshopper... THEN consider the fancy shit.

On the new Australian model bikes we dont have reserve fuel switch.
