well, I am sure you all have heard of or had a close call yourself - but I just had to share this one. Last night I am on a 2 lane road following behind a hummer (i wasn't real close, but close enough I guess). There were on coming cars waiting to turn left in front of us, and there were cars coming from the tbone road onto our road. Anyway, the hummer turned right and a lady pulled out in front of me. I had cars on both sides and no where to turn and no shoulder. I put it in first and jumped on the rear brake. I started skidding but I knew I wouldn't stop in time so I started getting the ass end to skid sideways and leaning away from the skid. I managed to keep it upright and when I came to a stop, I could have reached in the ladies driver window. She was hesterical cause she thought i was going to tbone her door. When I looked down, my bell was lying on the ground. The zip tie that i attached it to the frame just below my brake peddle had broken when i jammed on the rear brake. I really never believed too much in the whole bell idea and i figured when your number is up, is time to pay the piper. Well I have a little more faith in the bell now, and I learned how dangerous it can be, especially if you follow close behind other vehicles. Always assume that nobody fuckin sees anyhting, keep your cool, and don't panic. Take care and ride safe.
