Hey guys.
I've been reading through the forums regarding the #42 slow jets. I just wanted a bit of clarification about the advantages (and possible disadvantages) of replacing the stock slow jets on the '03 ACE with the #42's from the 1100 AERO.
I've got parts on the way. Starting with throwing on the Cobra Low-Boys, then I want to do the Bean box and rejet.
It sounds like the larger slow jets make it easier to fine-tune the idle mixture, but I'm not clear on this part. This #42 slow jet is an advantage because you don't need to unscrew it as many turns? I feel from the descriptions that the stock slow jets have to be unscrewed so far that they risk falling out of their housing.
Is this an accurate description? Is this the only reason replacing them is a good idea - so that you don't unseat the stock ones trying to richen the idle mixture? Anything I'm missing here?
Thanks for the help, gents.
