Here a few weeks ago i saw a shadow aero like mine that was really loud while cruising and i chase the bike down to talk to the guy to see what he had done and of all things he said he went to the local midas muffler shop and had them cut the stock exhaust off where the two pipes meet the cannister of the baffle and had two stainless steel chrome tips welded in its place and may i say it sounded awesome and loud so loud that the following week i went and had the same midas muffler shop do mine and now i'm riding around with a big grin and have had tons of harley guys sayin "DAMN THAT HONDA IS LOUDER THAN MY HARLEY" LOL. But i have ordered a jet kit and k&n filter since it does pop a little when you decelerate after heavy acceleration. Even the guys at Roadhouse choppers here in Springfield Mo. thought it looked and sounded awesome. Just thought i'd let ya guys know in case your like me and don't have the $800 total for the pipes i want plus jetting and filter plus labor so after the mod and the jet kit and filter i'm still going to save myself a little over $500.

I did the same to my VLX as well, using a 1 5/8" ID pipe and sounded awesome.
I bet your 's is much better because of the displacement.

What ID pipe are you using? Bigger pipe will give a deeper sound.
To eliminate the popping on decel, try to turn the mixture screw out 1/4 turn at a time and test. This is caused by a lean mixture, and turning it counter clock wise will richen it.

You can make the sound even deeper with high flow baffle like BCT monsters. Few riders hv done this and get a great sound.
