The snow started just before noon today. By 4:30 pm, we had about 5 1/2 inches. At 9 pm we had about 9 inches and it's still snowing.

There was just a story on the news that said there were 60 buses in Providence that hadn't gotten school kids home yet. WTF!!! The superintendant said the storm wasn't what they expected. BULLSHIT! The forecasts were dead on. They predicted 6-10 inches starting around noon. There is going to be hell to pay that's for sure.

A normally 45 minute ride home from work took me just about 2 hours and I left at 2 pm. They weren't even plowing, just sanding. WTF does that do besides give you brown snow. When I left work there was already about 3 inches on the ground. It was coming down 1-2" an hour.

i've been there before, but i lived in denver when it happened, so it wasnt that big of a deal, i was used to it! sand is good when the snow is packed down, or there is ice that will be forming. think of it like sandpaper. it's easier to get traction on 80 grit than it is on 2000 right? hope that makes sense, but that is bullshit that the superintendent can't plan that shit out!!!

My GF's dad and brother are electricians. They left Westerly, RI at 3:30 pm and just got home at 10 pm. A normally 1 hour drive took 6 1/2 hours!

I would definetly be pissed but that shit wont happen down here. We haven't had snow in 20 years. (at least any that stuck on the ground)

The school part is fucked up they should have sent the kids home earlier
or not had school at all..
unlike other peeps I love the Snow. I love opening the big front window blinds
pouring a cup of coffee with some jack , or egg nog and jack
and turning all the lights out in the house and sit there and stare outside.. one of the most relaxing times there is.. :cool3:

Man in 2001/2002 My part of the state got hit with one of the worst ice storms in a long time. We had people without power for well over a month or two.
