Here's the start of it.

You will need:
1- 110 wide tire (a 120 WILL NOT FIT between the fender mount bolts)
1- 2002 CBR 600 F4i front wheel and at least the left side rotor
1- Hydro-Supply Company wiper seal #AN-19UR95 for the speedo hub
2- 3/8" x 1" steel spacers (found em at Lowes for caliper spacers)
2- 8mm1.25 x 50mm stainless steel bolts (to mount caliper)
10- 5/16" Stainless Washers

The trick to this swap is to get the tire centered on the fender. It needs to be shifted about 3/8" to the riders left. The hard part of this is finding areas where you can remove metal to move the wheel over.

The other hurdle is to get the speedo working with the new rim. Since the CBR speedo is driven off of the trans. You will need to figure a way to get the SS speedo hub to workon the CBR rim. It's easier than it sounds.

If you don't have the following tools don't bother with this mod

die grinder
dremel with assorted carbide cutters and cutoff wheels
metal files
Measuring tape
some type of measuring caliper

Jack up and secure the bike.

Remove the front wheel, caliper and speedo sensor

Remove the speedo hub from the rim and also dig out the drive washer from behind the dust seal

Set the stock wheel off to the side, you're done with it.

Get your shiny CBR rim out set it up on the bench with the left side facing up.

NOW. remove the bolts for the rotor and pull the rotor off.

Remove the dust seal on the left side only.

Get out your trusty die grinder and grind the hub down. The way you find when it down far enough is by placing the rotor on the wheel where it goes and laying a straight edge across it you want the level of the hub to be EVEN with the rotor. REMEMBER you can take more off, you can't add it on.

Once you have he hub even with the outside surface of the rotor, put the rim down for a break.

Grab your speedo drive hub. This part gets tricky, so pay attention.

The outside (forkside) of the hub has a raised area in the middle. This will need to be ground flush with the surrounding surface. You will also need to remove some material on the drive hub stop. (the part that keeps it from rotating on the axle) and the area where the worm gear mounts to drive the sensor. Be VERY careful around this. It's thin to begin with. What you are trying to accomplish it to get the flattest surface possible and have it fit tight against the fork leg. With no space.

On to the inside of the speedo hub. This part takes a TON of trial and error test fitting. Do not get lazy at this point or you will pay for it.

There are two surfaces that need to be modified here. The steel spacer ring in the center and the aluminum hub area. This is where that nifty little seal goes. You need to remove some of the hub area and the steel spacer to get this to fit tight. DON"T remove too much or else the spacer will end up too short and this will allow slop in the wheel. All you are trying to do is get the wheel shifted over to the left remember? This part is all trial and error, go slow. Keep test fitting it on the bike to check your progress.

Once you have the wheel centered you can now worry about the spacer on the right side. I was lucky and when I got my wheels they came with all the stock spacers. I used the stock CBR front spacer and one of the rear spacers. The total length I needed was 1 3/16" your measurement will be different more than likely.

Now it' time to get the speedo working. Take the drive ring that was in the stock wheel and lay it over the CBR hub. Mark the area where the two ears lay on the hub. You will need to remove this area just about down to the bearing so it fits in there. Try fitting the speedo hub on. It doesn't fit now does it? What you need to do is grind down the ears that engage the speedo hub and the nylon drives in the hub itself. Only a little and keep test fitting it until it seats.

Once you think that it'll work slap it on the bike to recheck everything. Does it fit? Good. Take it off again.

Put the brake rotor on (Use loctite) Make sure you clean all the areas to get any filings out. Put some fresh grease in the speedo drive unit. And on the axle. Now put the wheel on and tighten it up.

Get the caliper on the rotor and measure the distance between the caliper and caliper mounts on the fork. This is the size spacers you will need here. Cut the spacers and use the new SS bolts. You will more than likely need some washers under the bolt heads since they will be too long. Check the centering of the pads on the rotor. Mount up the caliper using loctite.

Spin the wheel and make sure nothing is hitting in the fender mount area. Bleed the brakes and you're on your way.

At some point you will want to relocate your fender down to make up for the different tire size. Keep a close eye and go slow with the whole process. Double check and think through every move. Double check everything that I've said above, there may be an error. Use some common sense and anyone can do this.

Just want to give a quick thanks to all the folks on here, Jim at Ace of Spades and The Spirit World for answering any questions for me.

Ok, your on your own. This is to give you an idea on how to do it. If you chosse to attempt this YOU are responsible for the results.

For handling medium to very large Collet chuck (http://www.bright-tools.com/) castings, weldments, or forgings, radial drills are ideal; The length of the arm along which the spindle housing rides specifies the Tool holder (http://www.bright-tools.com/) size. This arm can be Silicone wristbands (http://www.colorfulwristband.com/) from 3 feet to 12 feet long. The column that holds the arm may be from 10 inches to 30 Lanyards (http://www.colorfulwristband.com/) inches in Oil Painting (http://www.oil-paintings-world.com/) diameter.

first of all, your probably best off asking "shain"

second, nice write up! quite detailed. I know I'm a noob and I swear i'll fuck off here in a minute, but why exactly do you want to go with the CBR wheels? seems like alot of work and it looks alright but is it for the tiny fat front tire? is there more to it? does it ride better? I think I'm missing something

ok I'll fuckoff now
