Okay, I've tried to read all the posts about oil on the other board and I just can't get through it all to find the answer to my question (if its even in there). I just did my first oil change on the '90 VT1100C I just purchased and before I read all the other posts I put Valvoline Durablend 10W-50 (synthetic blend) in it. Overfilled than drained some out and rode about 10 miles today. Do the synth blends have the moly stuff that is supposedly bad for wet clutches? Should I drain and go with something else? Thanks and sorry for bring this up again.

Stay away from any oil that says "energy conserving" or words to that effect. They will screw up the wet clutch. I've used Mobil 1 redcap shortly after my 4th oil change. It's a synthentic, but not a blended synthetic. I know mobil makes a couple of oils specific to motorcycles but I can't seem to justify the difference in price. The motorcycle specific oils are $13.00 a litre up here, I think that's criminal.
