I had to run over to the new house today. I stopped in the Walmart in Pa to drop off the film. They couldn't handle the pressure of having it done in an hour. So I kept it.

On the way home stopped at the Walmart up the road from us. Dropped the film off for 1 hour service and to get the prints on a cd only.

Wandered through that shithole of a store for an hour, came back to the photo place and asked if it was done.

They had no idea what I was talking about. I produced the little receipt from the envelope. They then asked what the pictures were of. I said motorcycle parts. You could see the collective lightbulb going on over their heads. The thinnest of the three (she was only 200# or so) said that that was the film they lost the envelope for. But she had the prints. No Biggie. She flashed through them fast and I asked where the cd was. The lightbulbs over their heads dimmed. She then told me that since they couldn't find the envelope (the one that I had the receipt from) that they just went ahead and did double prints.
Now I ask you this, what the fuck would I need double prints of a fucking wheel for????? I told her that I didn't want doubles, but I need them on a cd so I can edit them on my computer for a web site. I might as well have been speaking fucking Swahili. The lightbulbs exploded........She then said that she didn't know how to put them on a cd. This is the same retard that took them in the first place and I specifically told her I needed a cd. Perhaps her ears were plugged with Crisco, we'll never know.
So as of this writing, the film is still there. Waiting for the cd copying asshole to show up at 5pm. They had better pray to Jonniefuckingwalmart that they get it right. Or else Susan is gonna be on here looking for bail money. :furious2:

I have to hear Walmart stories all the time, my mom is a greeter at the one in our town. My favorite stories are when someone tries to return something and don't have a receipt or it is electronics out of the packaging. They go off on my mom saying "You're just doing this because I'm black." It's like NO, I'm doing it because that's the store policy. I would have a field day in there. I really don't miss my days of working in retail.

Anyway, back on track. Hope you get that disk. You have to realize your getting closer to redneck country! They have trouble concentrating because they're thinking about their sister, I mean wife.

I haven't had the pleasure/misery of using WM for developing pics and prolly won't ever have to now that most of the pics that I snap are with a digital.

btw.....if you are needing a custom length of threaded pipe and the only available source is Homedepo, make certain that you call ahead first to verify that the only person that's capable of using the threading machine is actually on location....they kinda get their panties bunched if you operate it yourself.

It's amazing how fast people show up when you fire up one of their saws. Then the employee says "you can't get that out of one sheet", oh yeah...watch and learn.

I truly understand that if someone is injured whilst using their equipment it could be costly. They at least need to attach a "employee-needed-in-this-area" beacon like Lowe's. I run a construction biz (material is trucked from one of three local yards) and use HD mainly for stuff I need off hours around the house. If I used them for a supplier I'd lose a lot of time just because of either the incompetence of or the lounging employee's MIA status .... not to mention the fact that just as with Lowe's, HD is geared for the homeowner type of DIY'er as opposed to the working man.

I have bought their cardboard MDF quartered...that crAp dulls a saw blade quicktime.



....and yeah....How does one get two 4' x 4' panels from one 4' x 8' sheet?

the melamine sheets and MDF we got up here were 49" x 97" (even though they are sold as 4 x 8) not sure what size the sheets are where you are, but I would tend to think in those materials you'll find them oversized. I did cabinets for 15 years and 10 of that was on the saws. Melamine and MDF are brutal on blades.
I understand the liability issues with firing up one of their saws and have no problem with it (they could "lock down" the saw if they truly didn't want someone using it). But it's like you said, waiting around is very inconvenient and the only way you can seem to get help is to create an urgency on their part. We don't have a Lowes where I live, so I'm stuck with the HoboDepot.

This is funny. Walmart and Home Depot are 2 of the 3 stores I refuse to enter. Costco is the 3rd.

These stores are like a virus, putting the little guy who cares about his customers out of business. I could never walk into a Home Depot and be out in less than 30 minutes, no matter what I was looking for. Not sure about the U.S but here in Canada, they seem to have that need to blow into the intercom before paging someone too, drives me fuckin nuts!!!! :sign chil Go to happy place.

It's funny you mention that. A while back I ran into some trouble with the law. My sentence was anger management. One of the first questions the guy asked me was, what makes you angry. My response was "Coming here!"

He also asked why I always seemed pissed off. I'm not always pissed, ask Susan, I'm one of the most easy going guys there is. What does piss me off is everyone assuming that I'm pissed all the time.

This reminded me of a skit I saw on MadTV one time, it was about "Walls-mart" and they were assimilating the customers as they entered the store, like the Borg from Star Trek.
"Walls-mart, resistance it futile" It was funny as hell, but in a way it was really close to the truth. Their customer service suxs big time, and what the hell is it with having 12 lanes for checking out and only 2 of them open?!?
We have a local Mom and Pop owned Ace Hardware, and the same goes for the grocery store, I go to them whenever I need something. We also have another store here that offers "Savings" with a "Max Card", it just means "if you are shopping from out of town, we're gonna fuck you on the price" I avoid that store like the plague.

I am like AirportFF. I'll say whats on my mind, even if it pisses people off but nothing is hidden. What you see is what you get. If I blow, it is done, finished, off my chest and not festering.

I think it is fine, if not healthy, to blow a gasket once in awhile, so long as it is not abusive.
