There is a guy from a custom shop holding discussion about interest in moding Shadows for fat tires with shaft drive etc. on HondaShadow Discussion Forum. He ought to be asking here!

Unfortunately most of those people are too closed-minded for something like that. I posted in that thread a while back.

MrRngr, I noticed your post over there. I was kind of surprised that the most common response was about how little they paid for their bikes and whining about too much chrome. I posted about it here so that our members could read this guy talking about his success with fat tire mods. Some of his mods are very sharp. I figured some of our guys might want info. It has my interest. Serious engineering that is gauranteed to work! Designed to use Harley rims, giving a wide choice.
Harley is betting there is a consumer interest in fat tires with their "Rocker' series. MSRP starts at 20K.

I used to post there quite a bit, and Ranger, found that there wasn't a lot of interest in doing anything to the bike(s) other than perhaps adding grips, a shield and crash bar.

Anything outside of that was usually met with courtious disdain, IMO. The bunch around here, IMO, are much more inclined to go above and beyond wrenching and modifying their own bikes.
