Sunday I found out that a friend of mine and a lady I worked with in my last job lost her son in Iraq. This one hit real close to home. He is the first soldier from my town where I live now to lose his life while fighting in the present war. He was a great kid and loved his country. He made statements to the fact that "he loved his country and he thought that he needed to fight for our freedoms".
His family is taking it pretty hard.
I also ask you to remember all the fallen soliers and the soldiers that are overseas fighting so we can do the things we do and are not told what we have to do.
The group I ride with will be escorting his body in a motorcade to the funeral home tomorrow from the airport in the next county. Again I say THANK YOU to all those that have served and are presently serving our country.

man i really hate to hear this shit. but unfortunately it is a necessary evil. we all need to stand behind our country's hereos. regardless what my feelings are on this ridiculous made up war, my heart goes out to the family of this soldiers...... most think if you are not for the war, then you are un-patriotic. but i think the total oposite is true. i am for our soldiers, and i am for not seeing out soldiers get killed over a war that was made up of false information. i am for bringing them home NOW..... to me that is very patriotic...
god bless him.

As far as the war no I don't really agree but like you said it is necessary evil.
I hate to hear of a soldier falling but am sure proud of them when I get to type this on the computer or do anything else I please(lawful) and nobody tells me I can't.
Man, hate to hear this, my prayers go to their family. Perhaps he's in a better place now.

i am a soldier in Iraq and i have been reading the threads on this site trying to figure how i am going to fix up my bike when i get back home, when i came accross this thread and decided that i would join Shadow Riders. Because it is a great thing to see the support of the American people. just so yall know when us soldiers over here see the supprot that the American people are giving us it truely makes us proud and helps us get through our tour. even if you do not support the war continue to support the Troops and their familes back on the home front. Thank you for your support and have fun riding.

So sorry to hear about your friend's son.... We are not supposed to bury our kids... sad time. Hey ATM, you mind telling where you're at? I was at Victory back when we caught Saddam. It wasn't near as nice as it is now though. Good luck bro and get home safe!

I've actually been out of the service for about 6 years now. When I got out I became a civilian contractor. I've deployed more as a civilian than I ever dreamed of while active, not that I wanted to.

Right now I am. I don't work for KBR though. Not really suppose to say more than I'm just a contractor. I'm sure you can understand why. I'm trying to get a year deployment so I can save up enough money to quit this job and start something else. I bought and built my bike with the money I made from my last deployment.

sounds like a plan. i was thinking about buying a harley sence they have a special deal for deployed soldiers but i decided not to. i am trying to find a 65 305 superhawk to restore for my dad. he is also over here but on a different base. he curently has a 05 ss750 but he never rides it so i have basicaly stolen it from him. i have a little 03 dr200se suzuki that is a street and trail bike that he likes to ride so i thought i would get that superhawk because that was his first bike. i also have a 06 suzuki that i was going to sell so i could get the harley. but i may trade it in for a shadow or vtx.

the sales guy at my local dealer is a battle buddy of mine and so he got me and my dad good deals on the bikes over the years. like we got both suzuki's at cost. the army has many adavantages and at the same time many disadavantages. but it is all worth it that is why we do what we do. unfourtanaly some like this fallen soldier have to pay more than others for the needs of our country. all gave some and some gave all.
