Anyone know how to install a side mount license plate? I have seen a few posts about it installing on the axle or on the lower shock bolt, but I just don't see how. Attached is a pic of the bracket, and I have the 3/4" adapter. Any help is greatly appreciated!

That's the same one I have. I just bolted it to the lower shock bolt.

I used a piece of rubber behind the washer to keep it from trying to rotate downward when I hit a bump. If I remember correctly I had to purchase a metric bolt from my local hardware store becuase the stock bolt will be too short.

Menace,

Thanks for the pics and link. The setup looks real good and clean. Do you recall what size bolt you had to get? Your bolt looks just like the original. Is it chromed?

not chrome. I took the stocker to the hardware store and I knew how thick the side mount was so get one that much longer. Mine was too long so I sawed it off a bit.

Thanks for the tip! I am off to the hardware store this evening.

I also need to shave my license plate down a bit tonight. Its too wide for the bracket.

It's a little bit more work, but I have the same one and mounted it on the axle.

What size rear rim and tire are you running? It looks great with the lowered rear end.

What size rear strut do you have, and how much clearance does it give you? How's the ride? Where did you get the rear strut?

I have pretty much the same side mount on my 1100. If the 1100 and the 750 are the same, you're going to have to grind down where it attaches to the axle by about 1/4. Here's mine mounted and I'll look for the instructions I found on another site.

Thanks very much! I just got it back after waiting 8 weeks for a 2 week job!! I think it was worth the wait though.

Mine is not super tight either. Look at the pic, I added a piece of rubber behind the washer so it does not move as easily and it rests on my axle nut. I can't fall any lower thanks to the axle nut.

I have mine on the axle and it did the same thing.I ended up using a zip tie to the chain adjuster and is hardly noticable.

Please do not be fooled by all these posters providing photoshopped images of a side mount license plate. It cannot be done and will void your warranty.

Another mounting option is some all thread with chrome acorn nuts, washers run through the center of the rear axle.
