i was wondering how it mounts up-- similiar to the 750 or not?

hey Razor - seems like I recall someone doing that on one of the other forums a year or two ago. Pretty sure it was a VTX tank. Don't remember if it was a 1800 or 1300.
Any way, he had to raise the mounting points higher for clearance. He welded a rod across the frame backbone directly above the original location and reattached the bushings.

The only future plans I have would be to slam the ass end and maybe talk AA into shooting it with some paint. Also, if it is still around, this winter I am going to take all the chrome off of the engine and black it out and then file the cooling fins to a high polish.

I may have some 11" progressives for sale soon. Painting the motor would look bad ass for sure. But it will be a complete pain in the ass. Let me know how it goes it you do that. It may inspire me to paint mine.

Yes, U can mount a VTX tank on a spirit. Monir mods, and U gain 1 full galon of fuel and the gauges fits (I think)

Thanks mcvierh. I did a little painting on it this weekend. I couldn't stand that final drive section being silver when the rest of the back was black and chrome. So I took it off, sanded, primered and painted it gloss black to match the rest of the bike. It also makes me rear wheel stick out a little more. Soon as I can I will get some pics.

Well, I picked up a damn nice set of 11" Progressives from DRFLGD and installed them yesterday. Damn, what a difference! Looks alot better than those cannons they call stock shocks!!!!! I will take a pic tonight of the bike with the shocks and the painted final drive and post tomorrow! Thanks Doc for a hell of a deal on those shocks!

That looks awesome Bro! I painted my final too! The silver just looks like shit(generic) on the bike. The black sets it apart. I want to break my final down and have the outer case powdered this winter. I'm glad the shocks worked out for you. They make a world of difference in looks and ride IMHO.

The looks of the aftermarket shocks to the stock shocks are a world of difference. I need to lower the setting on the shocks. Right now they are on two and it is way stiff just with me on there. Other than that, everything is OOOOOOTAY!!!!!
Probably going to get my jet kit this weekend and try to get it put in. Ever since I put the pipes on, there has been a slight hesitation in the throttle at take off. Too much air and not enough fuel.

I would really like to have this seat, but damn it's high.
Shark Inlay and the Blazer Stitch: MSRP: $615.95

Ok, one last update. Here goes.
Instead of buying a jet kit which costs around $60-80, I found some useful info on how to modify your carb too flow more fuel. --------->http://tech.vtxoa.com/index.php?action=artikel&cat=21&id=197&artlang=en
Installed the K&N Air Filter. The increase in throttle response and pulling power is incredible. So with all the of things I have done the total cost is $465. $400 for the pipes, $60 for the filter and $5 for the a bag of washers used too shim the carb needle. Not bad at all! The method I used on my carb can be done on anyones carb. Basically all you do is shim your needle up, cut your vacuum slider spring. That's it. Questions? Fire away.
