I have never been a fan of oem accessories. They are overpriced and are of no better quality than reputable aftermarket sources.
My 06 Aero had the Hondaline windshield on it when I bought it.
I stumbled across a great deal on a set of slightly used Hondaline spots and jumped on it.
I have to say that this is a very good looking, well engineered kit.
Install is simple, all the wiring is contained within the headlight. The only electrical connection to the bike is an existing plug located in the headlight case and 2 ground wires on the spotlight mounting bolts.
The switch is mounted on the clutch clamp. 2 spacers and 2 supplied bolts hold the switch in place. Very unobtrusive and easy to reach.
The kit comes with the necessary hardware to install the spots with or without the Hondaline windshield.
The windshield can still be removed after the spots are installed if you desire to ride with the wind in your face.
Overall Im very pleased with the kit, they look like they belong there, installation was a snap, and they are compatable with the Hondaline windshield.

Yeah, yeah, we need pics!!
I've been looking at the Cobra lightbar which is one piece - isn't the Hondaline unit 2 pieces? Would love to have pics of it mounted and see how it looks on a bike.
Great deal on finding one used...
when I bought my bike it came with a light bar. Took it off and thinking of putting it on Ebay as I do not need it.

Im in the middle of moving from Tucson to Arkansas. Its the monsoon season here and we have had some pretty severe weather this week.
As soon as I get to Arkansas I will get the cam unpacked and post up some pics.

Yeah, send me a couple if you don't mind. I'm not sure if it will fit....
i like my cobra except for the exposed wires, but i'm too lazy to put metal braided lines and route the wires trough them, so i can't really complain

Dammit...just my luck. It is a Cobra lightbar but the Spirit bar is slightly different than the bar for the Aero :madani:
Retail is $269.95...put it on evil-bay, it'll sell
Thanks for checking the number for me. If it would have worked, I'd taken it off your hands :wink3:
Well, I figure let someone here have it before going to ebay..... but now I think thats the way to go with this thing...

well i think you jinx me  , last night on my way home, when i entered the highway, i noticed a little flicker from the lightbar's spotlights but not enough to get me worried, well today i started the bike and everything looked fine i went inside put my jacket on and grabbed my helmet, walked out to the garage and notice the light bar was turned off i thought to myself thats weird i could've swore they where on when i walked inside the house, since i didn't even touched the switch last night or today, well i tryed to turn it on and the freaking switch is stuck in the off position :furious2: , i don't know if the switch has somekind of breaker inside and once it pops you have to replace it cause it wont let you reset, anyways my supervisor let me off work for a little bit so i could go to the electronics store and bought the same 10Amps-125VAC / 10Amps-250VAC switch the only thing different is the prongs are like this " / / " unlike original one's " l l " for $3.60 lets see what happens
(PS. the wires ain't exposed it's just that they're zipped tied to the bar and you can see them but then again it's an easy fix i'm just too lazy- look how long it's taking me to send you that heat shield  )

Pics at last.
Front view of the spots, they go well with the headlight and turn signals. I also have the deepdish bezels and amber lenses on the turn signals. Im undecided if I want the visors on the spots or not.
Two views of the on/off switch. Pretty clever how they mounted it. The wires are very small and follow the existing harness down to the headlight.
A view of the spotlight mounting brackets. The spots dont irub on the Hondaline windshield. All mounting hardware was included, the spots use different spacers and different bolt lengths if you have a windshield.
All in all Im very pleased. They put out plenty of light, installation was a snap, and they look good.

I have a 2007 Spirit VT1100, the way the blinkers clamp on my fork's I been looking hard for a lightbar that will fit. I found a National version about 200 bucks and a showchrome version about the same price. Anybody have a thought on which one to choose? Is either one any good? I like the baron version but won't fit my bike.

We could do this forever jay t and I 'm not interested , all I wanted was a suggestion for a light bar and other people's advise. And the cobra version light bar is ok but I wanted to know if they are any good. Not to go back and forth with you.

Nice. I just installed the hondaline lights with the switchblade windshield, no interference, everything plays together nicely. I do need to up the bulbs from 25-35W like others have done.
