The only thing that actually holds it on is the factory air intake tube on the top and the bolt that goes to your bracket on the bottom. Thats how mine is and it hasn't flew off yet.
Have you got your butterflies too work? The instructions say they won't work on the 750ss's, but thats bullshit!!! Mine work fine.

how did you get them to work how do you tell if they work or not since you cant see while you ride.....are they supposed to remain open when the bike is off because mine do.....did you drill a hole in your carb.....for a vaccum.....and hook it up to the butterflies???????

I drilled the hole in the carb for the vaccum and they work great you can tell because at idle the butterfly's close about half way and pulse. It's pretty awesome. The hole you drill is actually a vaccum outlet on the carb that was never used.

They do stay open when bike is shut off. When the bike is fired up the vaccum will control them. The more throttle, the more they open. To see them work, just start the bike and lean over and look at the front of the hyper, then rip the throttle back. They will flutter when just at an idle also.
I didn't hook them up threw the carbs. There's an easier way. I'll tell you tommorrow and post a couple pic's when I get off work. I've got to get some sleep now.
Later!

You may get more response from your post if you update each one with what led you to the solution to your question. Simply posting back-2-back questions without doing so may lead many to disregard your posts....k?
Example: Hey guys I have a problem with my battery...what gives?
Next post: My speedo doesn't work...what gives?
Do you see the pattern of madness?
Question to you....How can KuryAkyn ship you a product without install directions? Obviously the plates are controlled by vacuum. There're many sources 'specially if you have a CA model.....
I'd suggest you address and resolve one single issue at a time so that the members won't get tangled up.....know what I mean?

The question was not directed to me, but I can answer that. They do send instructions, but they ain't worth a shit. They pretty much just show you how to mount it, and thats for a Hardly. I think there was maybe 5 or 6 lines and that was it. You do have to remember the Hyper wasn't made for the SS, but with the adaptor they send you, it will fit. They just expect you to figure it out on your own.
They show nothing on how to set it up on your carbs or how to install the jets.
Don't get me wrong, the product is great, but instructions SUX!!!!! :undecided
and Doubled...... I'll get you some pic's tonight and show you where else the vaccum can be installed.

This is for anyone who might have or be getting a Hypercharger in the future.
The Hypercharger's so called instructions tell you the butterflies will not operate on the SS. This is incorrect. If you look on the 750sa web site they will tell and show you how to install the vaccum line to the carb. If your like me and alittle nervous about drilling a hole in your carbs, this is alittle more easier.
On the right side, of the front cylinder head, there is a small phillips head screw. Its located right behind the Hyper. This is where you can also synchronize the carbs, but nobody ever does " that I know of". From this point you can get the vaccum to work the butterflies.
There's a couple of ways you can achieve this. They make a fitting that screws in the hole for synchronizing carbs, but my local stealer had no idea what I was talking about.
Then there's my way. I took a 1" long bolt. What ever size it took to screw in the hole. I then cut the head of the bolt off, took a hack saw and made a slit in the top so I could install it with a flat blade screwdriver, then I drilled a small 3/32 or 5/64 hole all the way through the bolt. The drill bit will break easy, so I drilled half way, then flipped the bolt and drilled until it reached the other hole. Screwed it in, hook up the vaccum hose and TA DA, working butterflies!!!! One draw back is that if you pull the choke out, it wants to pull itself back in some. I'm thinking the vaccum is wanting to pull it in. No biggie, I just hold the choke out about 30sec's, then it pulls itself back inalittle and idles fine. Here is a pic of the location and hose. HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE!! :Peace!:

Hey guys....the hyper charger is installed and its pretty solid now.....I just bought some RTV Seal and adhesive and put some around the mount where the hyper charger connects to the bike.....I drilled a hole in the carb for the vaccum and the butterflies work on it too.....thanks for all your help.....
And just as an update......Sorry i dont have pics but every time i try to post it says its too big.....Vance and Hines pipes DONE......HyperCharger DONE......Turn Sigs DONE.....Billski mod DONE....Headlight DONE......Grips.....DONE.....
Once I got everything Started up I noticed that since i put the pipes on and the hyper charger it seems like the bike is alittle sluggish....takes awhile for it to get going....i have the mixture screws at 3 turns that what it told me in my vance and hines jet kit.....should i ajust....???

Hey Doubled, did you rejet the carbs? With the hypercharger and pipes, you will need to get a jet kit (stage 1 kit should be fine) and then install the 134(front) and 138 (rear) main jets that come with the hypercharger kit. the stage 1 jet kit, I used dynojet comes with the replacement needles and slide springs as well as the clips that let you adjut the needles for your tuning pleasure. I am not done dialing mine in yet, but you can check out the progress and pics on my project I started for the Shadow Spirit 750 here:

hey chewy, i'm sure that doubled would appreciate your help, but this thread is from over 2 years ago.....
i don't think doubled has posted here since before i joined!

You can reinforce the hypercharger one by cutting off the original cast bracket that is part of the side engine cover this cover is just for looks. I took a piece of 1/4" x 2" aluminum and bent up a bracket that mirrored the bends of the stock mount. This has its advantages in taking the hypercharger on and off b/c you dont have to fight that allen bolt with the lock nut with a pair of vise grips and a wrench. You just use the bolt just to the right of the old bracket ( another allen bolt ) and the screw in the clamp at the top of the rubber elbow. Also on the back of the adapter if you put a couple of thick coats of RTV where the two meet, you wont have the problem of the rubber boot wanting to pull out of the adapter. I reccommend that you give it about 24 hrs to dry once you have applied.
On a side note:
From riding and going through a lot of spark plugs and research I found that when you drill the one carb you need to drill the other carb. The reason for this is to equalize the vac pressure on the carbs. Once you have the holes drilled out put a T in the two lines connecting the two together and run a third line out of the remaining port on the T into the back of the hypercharger. This will not affect the carbs you are just utilizing unused vac ports on the carbs. If you are looking at the carbs you will see where the choke linkage is going into the carbs the vac port is just below your choke linkage on both carbs. I haved used fewer spark plugs and have had less popping and cracking since the other hole was drilled to equalize the vac pressure in the carbs.:beatnik2:

Yea it just bolts on to the factory mount. For vacuum I just T'd into a crossover line that went between the lines and my butterflies work good
