Dude, there is a plastic nut behind it, loosen it and you will find that the braket has an opening where you can just remove the whole chocke cable assembly.

I was so tempted to post something smart ass like........you don't think there might be a nut in front of it too???? But I won't :wink_2:

ok I have the carb out......now im installing the jets but in the vance and hines instructions it shows them only replacing the main jet.....and not the slow jet.....do i just keep that the same......plus the instructions want me to drill a hole to drill out an ajustment plug do i need to do that......?????

You'll have to drill out the plug on the adjustment screw. Be very careful when you drill NOT to drill into the screw underneath it. Just drill enough to pop a hole in it, and then use the screw in the kit and start it in the hole enough to get a pair of pliars on it to pull it out.
#42 main jets may be required once you put on your thunder air breather. If you have a dynojet kit, they don't come with slow jets. So you won't have them to install.

Well...Where is the other end plugged.Becareful not to get that choke cable in a bind when you put it back,or you'll be cursing again.
Oh,wait, does everyone remember the hose that goes absolutely no where on the spirit?Remember the tee,and a hose not hooked to anything?
Doubled, are you sure thats not the hose you have found?
Get us a pic.
Ok lets relax here. You need to do thing in order. First of all, now that you have the carbs out, replace the jets as mentioned on your instructions or ask someone here for the site with pics and explanation.
Second, while installing the choke cable, make sure it is routed correctly or it wont work later (if binded). Third, connect hoses per side. I mean, make sure that hoses to be connected on the left side are connected and then move on to the right side. For the most part hoses will point near where they belong.
If all that fails, please take a pic and post it, we can help you get your ride back on the road.

I'm sorry but I have to ask. Did you finish any of the other things you had started? Or did you just rip everything apart at once? It seems to me that you're biting off more than you can chew right now. I know that you have to start somewhere with it, but pre-plan every move. Like I have stated before, finish one thing at a time and study every aspect of what you are planning before you even touch a wrench. You'll find that your mods go a hell of a lot smoother and you won't get frustrated.
Also do you have a service manual? You shouldn't take anything apart, especially something like the carbs, without one.
Research BEFORE doing anything.

ok at the top of the carb there is a T connector two of the three are connected to the carb and then there is another tube comming from it which i think got pulled out from the bike......Does it not go anywhere.....???? and yes i have finished everything that i have started.....i go to post a pic and its telling me its too big....grips done, mirrors done, billski done, turnsigs done, headlight done, (still trying to hide the wires) yeah so everything is being done one at a time...... I hope its the hose that doesnt go to anything lol

The longer tube that comes from that T and wraps around the front of the carb is a vent I believe, you should not need to hook it up. Someone jump in if I am wrong, I don't want any errors, but I know I have a vent on my ACE.

Sounds like you are correct. If it's the "T" hose assembly there is a hose that is considered "the hose to nowhere" as TangledJ mentioned as well.

Man this site is awesome, I just put my thunder air kit on and rejetted. I ran into the hose from or to nowhere and almost drove myself nuts trying to find the connection it went to, was real careful in marking hoses and locations and then this little ****er shows up, but thanks to the almighty site search I have found my answer, so glad there are guys and gals that know what the hell they're talking about. Haven't finshed hooking up the rest of the stuff gotta go make money for the honey, but a real big thanks to you smart guys from one carb illiterate hilljack. Thanks again!!!!
