F.S. ss750 Gas Tank Black w/o Decals

Hey guys,

I just put a gas tank on ebay. It's a black tank that had the decals removed, then sanded and repainted. There is a small chip in the paint on the underside of the tank but I don't think you can see it.

I was so excited when I originally saw this tank on eBay. So excited that my dumb ass did not read that the tank is for a 2004-2006 ss750. I have a 2002.

The tank looks sweet and I wish it fit my bike. A tank without decals looks a hell of a lot better than stock. I paid $145 for the tank and I'm just trying to make my money back. The bidding starts at $75 and the Buy It Now is $145...

Did you try the tank on your bike? I was under the impression that all the 750 spirits were pretty much the same.

The tank I bought was too small underneath where it is supposed to wrap around the frame. I can see how an '01 tank would fit a newer 750, but not the reverse.

Do you have an ebay link, I cant find it?
If somone knew the compatability for the tanks and years are they are interchangable, it should be posted on the main forum info. I have an 03 so I would need to know if it would fit that year.

When I bought the tank, the guy listed that it would only fit an '04-'06 750. If you call the stealer I'm sure they can tell you for sure. All I know is that it definitely wouldn't fit my '02.

As far as the ebay listing, someone bought it really fast. However if the transaction goes south for any reason, I'll let you guys know ASAP.

As it turns out I sold the tank to a guy and he said it didn't fit his '05. After asking around he said it is supposed to fit an AERO, not an ss750. If the guy decides to return it to me I'm going to post some pics here. I can definitely use some help figuring out if the first ebay guy screwed me over.

i'm 99% sure the guy you bought it off of screwed ya logan..:sad: ..my personal experience with these tanks, and from what i've talked to others about them, is that they all will work, 01-present

when i was going to get a stretch/seam roll from jaxon last year, he confirmed that they all were the same to the best of his knowledge, and he doe's a lot of them

Aeros are the same tank as the Spirits? I believe Surfernic has even had a Ace tank on his Spirit.

Once I got the tank and realized it didn't fit my bike, I sold it on ebay, but then the guy I sold it to got screwed because of the wrong info that I was given. I felt bad and gave the guy a few options. If he decides to send it back to me I'm going to post some pics.

All I remember at the moment is that the connector for the petcock was about one-third to halfway up the tank. Definitely not in the same place as the ss750 that I have.
