i have read a lot of good articles on here about trying to put a bigger tire on the rear of my bike. if i did not want to do the vtx mod and just wanted to stay with stock rim, what is the fatest tire i can go with without getting the bubble look. i have read that you can put a 180 and sometimes it will look just as wide as a 200. the only tires that i am seeing are 180/70/15. i would like to see less side wall but can't seem to find a tire that is below 70 for the 15" wheel. anyone got any good advice, or just do the vtx mod.

You aren't going to have much luck finding less of a sidewall for a stock wheel. Go to a larger diameter rim and you'll find tires available with less sidewall. If you are looking for a low profile wheel look, just get yourself an 18" rear wheel.
Brands seem to play into the overall look of the width. It'd be nice to have a side by side comparison of a 180 metz next to a 180 avon, or even a 170 of each brand.
