Who here has Sirius satellite radio? Which reciever did you get?

Been wanting to get one for a while now. I have the money put aside for it, just too lazy to go to the store and get it. I signed up for the free 3 day trial on their site last night, so I've been listening to Hair Nation almost non-stop.

I've had it for almost 2 years now. I have the Starmate receiver. Since I bought it, I haven't listent to terrestrial since unless I am forced to. The best is that you can stream it thru your computer too for the same price and if you want to spend the extra 50, you can buy the home kit too all for the same price. If you pay the whole year you get 1 month free. I love it. No damn commercials on most stations. I also love the scrolling artist/song. It takes the guess work out of those 1 hit wonders. Sports are awesome too. No waiting for them to say the score, its always there. Definately worth the cash in my opinion.

I have the Stiletto 100. Wife got it for Christmas. It has a power supply and antennna so it is totally self contained and portable. It also has a mp3 player for when you can't get a signal. Car kits are $70 which is not bad but I had to get the $30 FM modulators for my stock radios (3 of them).

I had Sirius for about 8 months. They have the STUPIDEST phone support in the WORLD.

January 2006...
First when I subscrbed I had an idiot who couldnt speak english. The only info he got correct was my Credit card number.

Feburary....
I call and ask where is my new customer welcome kit, they said it is in the mail. They verified my wrong name and address and quickly sent out another one that I should get in a week. 2 weeks later I call.... Where is my kit? Uh I will send you another one.

March....
let me talk to a manager.... Where is my kit. Sir I can see you are frustrated, I got a kit in my hand, what is your address. I gave them my address and got the managers name. 2 weeks later I call back and request the manager agian, this time I get a different manager so i tell them my story. She said it was funny that they said they had a kit since that is handled in a totally different building and state and seh knew the person who told me that and was going to reserch it for me and get another kit out asap.

April....
Give me a manager, where is my kit. Sir I am sorry I will get one out asap. I said you were a liar and I would get no kit and what is your name so i can documet your lies you will tell me. I get the name and 2 weeks later no kit. I call again and get the same BS story.

May...
I call and ask for who ever in in charge of the yahoo's I have been talking to, they said they were not available, I said of coures they wernt avalable. so I said cancell my service cause you are all ignorant, well this bought me 2 free months of service since i repeated my story to another ignorant bastard, guess what.... my kit is in the mail again.

June....
No Kit

July....
I go to sirius.com and leave a nasty email saying how ignorant and stupid thy all are. ! week later I get the head of something calling me asking me what was my issue. I explain everything and give all my names I have kept track of along with every lie they told me. I was promissed another kit.

August... 2006
I called and told them to cancell my service cause you all are retarded.

April 2007.....
no kit still.

Half the time them bastards told me my mail man probably was stealing my kits, I asked if you thought maybe he was selling them on EBay since Sirius welcome kits were so valueble that a Postal worker would sacrifice his job to steal about 8 of them from me.

I would go with XM.

I've had it for over two years now... been using the "Sportster (original)"

way better than XM.... I had XM for over a year, before Sirius and could never find anything I wanted to listen too. I hated it... listened to the sirius online trial for an hour and was hooked...

I HAVE SIRIUS

I HAVE HAD IT FOR 2 YEARS NOW.. I LOVE IT. GOOD CHOICE GOING WITH THEM, CUZ THEY ARE ACTUALLY TAKING OVER XM ANY WAY, AND THEN THEY WILL BE ONE SO GREAT CHOICE. THEY ARE JUST GOING THRU THE REGULATORY SHIT NOW.

AS FOR THE RECIEVER, I HAVE THE SPORTSTER. ITS PORTABLE FROM CAR TO CAR AND IT IS JUST A PLUG AND PLAY. YOU ACTUALLY TUNE THE RADIO INTO AN OPEN FM FREQUENCY (USUALLY 88.1 ) AROUND HERE. I ALSO GOT THE BOOM BOX THAT THE RECIEVER PLUGS INTO. THAT WAY I JUST TAKE IT OUT OF MY CAR AND I AM ABLE TO LISTED TO IT AT WORK.

THEY ALSO HAVE A THING CALLED THE STILETO. THAT ONE ACTS ALOT LIKE AN I-POD. U ARE ABLE TO RECORD ANY SHOW AND LISTEN TO IT AT YOUR LEASURE. A BIT PRICEY, BUT I HEAR IT IS KICK ASS.

THATS NOT TRUE..... THEY WILL STILL WORK. THEY ONLY THING THAT WILL HAPPEN IS CERTAIN COMPANIES (IE: MLB , NBS, NFL ,NASCAR) HAVE EXCLSIVE CONTRACT WITH EITHER XM OR SIRIUS, SO U CAN ONLY LISTEN TO THEM ON THAT CERTAIN RECIEVER, BUT ONCE THE CONTRACTS ARE OVER THEY WILL SLOWLY INTERGRATE THEM WITH EACH OTHER.

DO YOUR HOME WORK BEFORE MAKEING A COMMENT LIKE THAT.

AS FOR PRICES GOING UP, THAT WON'T HAPPEN EITHER. THEY ACTUALLY MIGHT EVEN GO DOWN A BIT CUZ OF SO MANY SUBSCRIBTIONS. BUT U CAN BUY A LIFE TIME MEMBERSHIP FOR ABOUT $500.00 AND NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT. THATS WHAT I DID WHEN I RE-NEWED.
