I am starting a new project on a 04 VLX and would like base it off the below car (I like the old cars).
My question is, where would the red and white pinstriping look good and where should I keep it away from. I plan on designing a custom emplem for the tank which will be put where the tank emblem is now.
Thanks in advance for any input and help.

what about up each side of fenders, and across the outter upper edge of tank? or, widen the stripes and go right up the center of fenders and tank? could even have the seat upholstered with same colors to continue lines from tank to rear fender? just a couple suggestions. will the 04 have the hemi also? haha.

one more idea, do the paint scheme like blue marble, only with side by side narrow crack lines in the red and white.

Thanks for the suggestions you guys. I also like the idea of the racing stripes.
But after learning of the death of a friend of mine who died in Iraq, SFC Tony Knier, I may do a different theme. We served together at Fort Campbell KY in D. Co. 3/187 Inf as Section SGTs. We both had the same plans... A medical discharge stopped mine down the line. He continued his until 10.21.06 the day he was killed by a roadside bomb..
I am thinking of putting these on the sides of the tank now and a mini virtual wall on my side covers to honor anyone I served with who died in Iraq or other combat zones. The base color is already down, the bike used to be silver. Windshield is gone, new T-bars are on and new mirrors are on the way. I'll post some new pics in a few days.

Sorry about your friend. I think your new idea sounds awesome. I thought about doing some kind of tribute with my bike, hence the color.
