'Sup guys? Last night a buddy of mine and I took the mufflers off of my bike and put on 2 of the chrome tips (kind of like what rice-burners put on their cars) in place of them. Nothing but straight pipes that look like stubbies and boy do they sound mean. Now I just have to re-jet it. I talked to a mechanic at the local shopa nd he said he wouldn't be too concerned about cutting a valve etc, but would still re-jet. He looked up the stock jets and they are 105/108. He also said he has had nothing but hell w/dyno jet kits and didn't recommend them. Anyone else used anything different and what size did you burbs guys go up to? Thanks!
P.S. If anyone is looking for a new exhaust that is LOUD and they are wanting to cut corners, I highly recommend this. $9 and 2 chrome tips (Oreiley's or Autozone) later and about 45 minutes of work and I have a mean looking/sounding exhaust. Just put the chrome heat guards back on when you are done and you can't tell it isn't a factory job!

Damnit mitch, you would have to say that! I have no way of taking pics but I will try to explain it. I took the entire exhaust off of my bike. After I pulled the heat shields off, I was able to get at the clamps that hold the mufflers on. I took those loose and off came the mufflers. I went to the local auto parts store and bought two tips. They are chrome and about 8" long and about 2" in diameter. They are set up with two set screws that hold them to the pipe. I took a self tapping screw and made a third hole so I would have a triange to senter it on the smaller pipe. I put them on the lead pipes so that they were just barely covered by the heat shields. Put shields back on and I had new LOUD stubby pipes! Pretty cool stuff, just wish I could take a picture.
m-sin: I am gonna re-jet, just trying to figure out which sizes to use. As I said the mechanic told me he has had poor luck w/dyno jet so I was wondering about different options. I will probably do the bean box mod or maybe one of the bootleg intakes. Later on..
