The other day I was downtown on a busy street where motorcyclists like to show there bikes riding up and down 24hrs a day(you know the one I am talken about). Add that to the "Senery" :Boobs: and it's Quite a sight on a beautiful day. Anyways I saw a guy on a done out shadow ride by and pull over just up the street so I went to make some conversation with him. He had some patch on on his Jacket and deffinately had the "Biker Look" down pat. As I began talking to him, asking about his Apes and complementing his bike I could tell that he was to cool to be bothered and didn't have the time of day. It also seemed that he was almost embarassed that he was riding a shadow as when I mentioned something about it being a shadow he says "well it's just a shadow engine" as if to make an excuse that he wasn't riding one of those "other bikes". Anyways all I am saying is please don't be that guy "or girl." If someone wants to talk shop with ya don't don't be to cool, just be cool!!

What an ass! I know a guy who rides a Shadow and calls himself Harley and wears Harley gear. I guess non bikers can't really tell the difference, but I am proud to ride a Honda.

It's always funny to watch someone go over your bike while you sit back at a distance........the funniest words are always "it's a Honda???"
I'm proud of driving it, and not ashamed to tell anyone what it is. People always say, why didn't you get a Harley, and my reply is "why?" and there is never a good answer as to why you should buy one.

I had a sinilar experience last summer. These tow yuppie idiots were looking over my bike, (only they didn't realize that it was mine). They were standing there with all their shiny new Harley gear on (I think it still had the tags on it) And the one guy said "it's ok, too bad it's not a Harley."
I just smiled safe in knowledge that everytime I turn my key it will start, and that I can blow the doors off of any Harley except the Yuppierod.

Here's a suggestion:
Make a separate sub-directory or sub-forum just for anything harder than playboy-type pics.
Just call it Hardcore. You can get all the depravity you need in there...If there isn't enough traffic in there in a couple weeks, yank it.
That's what I'd do

I like to head down to bike night on Thursdays at a local place. Last week when I was there I was parked in the middle of a line of HD's. At one point someone actually stopped and commented how nice my Harley looked. Their face went blank when I pointed out it wasn't a Harley.
I think the idea of a metric being a bad thing is changing some, just have a way's to go still. It seems like the more someone rides the more they realize the brand is not whats important, just that we do it.

I've never understood all the animosity towards Jap bikes. Harley owners, not all, like BMW's, Triumphs, etc.
Is is jealousy? They're bent because we have a more reliable bike and paid less than half for it?
Never made much sense to me. I have noticed a trend where bikers, not the Harley rich guy wannabees, are more than willing to hang. It seems that the mindset of the guys that can ride either their VROD or drive their H2 or Mercedes are the ones that don't get it. It's a fraternity, not who can spend the most and park it in the garage and never use it.

Nice to know I am not the only one out there who's glad that I don't own a harley. Not that I have anything against the bikes only that it seems like there's to much image to carry along with it not to mention it seems the suspension has to be reinforced to support the ego of a select few. Don't get me wrong a have a few friends who ride Harley's and they hate the having to live up to an image but even they changed a bit. Anyways I love this Caption thanks to Zack Kinsey!
Proud to Ride My Spirit!!
Happy To Ride a Honda!!

I pulled up at a light around 0530hours and a old Shovelhead bagger pulls up next to me . The Guy is wearind a beanie helmut and smoking a ciggerette looks at my bike nods and says " nice bike ,........... WTF IS THAT A HONDA ???!!!!!!! " The light changed and I cracked the throttle and blew past him like he was standing still . He catches up to me at a red light and says " Wow that thing is fast , is that an 1800 ? " I said " No 750 " the light changed . I rode away laughing .

I think all of us here have had similar experiences on people commenting on our hondas some good some bad .The group of guys i ride with there comment is"AS long as it has two wheels it is good enough for me"Everyone else can kiss my ass
as far as OH thats not a Harley. What I do not understand is a guy with the same bike that thinks he owns a harley.Thats just wrong. In the long run I treat people as i liked to be treated>People like that just is not worth talking to. :jamming:
