Hi buds. I got my pipes (BURBS) sweet looking and the hell loud. I'm looking for a way to tone down a bit before I get pulled over-California
- <california> Any one else with the same "problem"?

haha what did you expect? There open pipes! What style did you get? You can quite them down with baffles. It all depends on the shape of the pipes.

Fit them in with a bit of heat wrap since they were a bit smaller that the pipes. Any way the soung is much better now. Better for the city I mean. Just need to advance the Pilot a bit since looks like some popping will happen. Here are the pipes.

Looks good, i'd like a set of Burbs but was worried about the same thing. I like rumble but not loud if ya can understand that. I was curious how the baffles would tame them down since they are so short. Did ya end up with some low end rumble ?? Or is it more high end crack ??

There are guys who will argue each way on this subject. Some say you don't have to rejet for pipes, only rejet after changin the intake or adding a K&N filter. Othes say you must rejet after changing pipes only. If you don't wanna rejet I would put the baffles in and adjust the mix screws, go to www.sa750.com (http://www.sa750.com) to find info on adjusting the mix screws. That should rid any popping on decel, if it doesn't rid the popping then I would rejet.

To tell you the truth made the sound better. Got the rumble on low RPM really good and smooth. As I told there might be a small chance of pop but I need to go on a longer ride since I just put them on and got out for 5 min.
But the wife smiled - if you know what I mean.
Before the baffles the sound was hard to handle. I use half helmet and my ears were cracking.
A fare jets. I'm fine without. I will do the screw after I take it on a long ride and see if needs it.

Wow! Those are sweet! That looks to be the first set he's ever made like that.
In almost 10,00 miles I've had 4 exhausts on my bike and I've never jetted my carbs nor adjusted the mixture screws. Every once and a while I'll get a pop depending on the temperature, but shit I like it when it cracks like that! I've also pulled my plugs and they look a nice tannish color so I'll leave well enough alone. If you do an intake you MUST jet then.
It will also run funny if the exhaust leaks at the head. Dont hammer down on the exhaust flange nuts (you'll be sorry if you do) and be sure to use NEW crush gaskets.

I just ordered some 4 inch baffles yesterday. My bike has been to loud for too long. :stunned: A three mile ride to work and I have minor hearing loss. Everything is muffled for around an hour. Your pipes will sound even better after a little carbon builds up in them. It gives it a deeper sound.
