faster=higher fuel consumption rate

I get 80 miles out of a tank too but there is a lot of stop and go in this island so in the freeway if you slow dows a little to 70 mph you should get a little more...I drove my spirit once for 20 miles on reserve... but I am sure that I was a minute away before she was out...

I normally get about 140 miles before I switch to reserve on the highway on my ACE. It is around 46 mpg for me. I do normally keep the speed on the highway around 80.

your tank holds 3.42 gal.
reserve is 1.06
so if you go 80 miles before reserve you should get about 33.6 miles before you run out. :sweatdrop

so i guess 80-miles at 90-95 mph is going to be normal?

I would think so. Are you talking sustained high speeds? If so I would be more worried about damaging the engine than fuel mileage. What kind of RPM's are you pulling at that speed?

Wind speed and weight would also contribute to mpg. Bikes are effected alot more then a car in those cases.

I get 100-120 before reserve with mosly highway riding @70-90

I get about 170-180 kms to a tank, which is about 106 -113 miles to a tank. Mine is mainly highway, and I'm running a 39 tooth sprocket. My rear tire this year is a larger diameter so it's dropped my rpm at highway speeds even more. I would tend to think I'll be closer to the 180 on the tanks now.

I must not ride hard enough on my bike if I am getting higher mpg. I just went to the 37t sprocket and bet I will get a little better on highway trips than I was before. I will have to check this next time I am on the road for a good distance. I was thinking mechanically the ACE and the Spirit were pretty close so I don't know why I would get higher mileage than the Spirit riders. If anything I would have thought I would do worse since my bike is heavier and I have a windshield.

I have a 39 tooth sprocket, your 37 would increase mpg even more than mine and I think the windsheild would actually help out by decreasing drag and making the bike more aerodynamic. Yours should be doing better than a stocker. I imagine either way at 90mph, the 750 engine would be revvin pretty high regardless of any of these sprockets, but espacially if the sprocket is stock, it would sound like it was ready to blow! High engine rpm = high fuel consumption. Riding at a more normal pace of 70 - 80 mph should improve fuel economy significantly...

i guess i better slow the fuck down huh? :whip:

Yeah, you're not lying about that. I do a lot of highway riding and changed out my Aero 750 for a Sabre 1100. My 750 was maxed out on revs about 85-90. My Sabre maxes out around 107 with a full set of luggage, my 200# lardass on it, and a windshield in winter.

Remember - I95 is America's dyno strip...

wow that is strange for 750 cc bikes. I have the 1100 and hauling double up 320 # I ran 170 miles before reserve. which would be 40 + haven't refilled the tank yet to get a accurate # but I will .. I was averaging 65 mph with a couple 75's throwen in.. lot of twisties with on & off throttle.... Straight pipes with no other mods...
