I have a CBR rear setup that I'm looking to get rid of. Its an aluminum rim that has been chromed. It also comes with the sprocket and caliper. The tire is a 210 mm metzler with less then 2000 miles.

Between the tire, the price of the rim, price to have it chromed, the rotor and the caliper, There is well over $600 into this setup.

You would need to find a master cylinder. The master cylinders sell on ebay for about $20. The bearings are setup for the stock axle. You can use your stock spacer for the chain side and the caliper is the spacer for the other.

I'd let it gor for $450 plus shipping. If you are interested, you can hit me at joonyasmom@aol.com

Here is a pic of it.

As soon as I get my taxes back (2-9-07 or so) and I get my credit card paid off, I'll give you a jingle. If someone nabs it before then, so be it...

Thanks Corpse!

210 nice. I was just looking for the right rim so I can mod the back before bolting the new fender and here you are, but the wrong rim. Price is great dough. I wish it was classic spoke rim...............
Did you get the tints from the paint?

Hey MT,

Sorry I didn't reply to you sooner but ShdowRiders doesn't notify me of new posts for some odd reason.

If your after a spoked rim, I would do the harley setup. Compared to others, for a spoke setup its the best bang for the money. Its wider then the VTX setup and you can have a disk brake setup too. If I woulda never ran into the deal I got for my back wheel, I would of never did a custom relace. Its too damn expensive.

If your interested in doing the harley setup and need some help, you know how to find me.

Later bud.

Hey corpse, do you by chance have a pic of that mounted, or did you never get that far? I sorta like the cbr wheel that ickmak has, a few more spokes to the mag.

What did that relace cost you? What rim size did you go with? I've been kicking that around myself, but wasn't sure of the total cost. Buchcanan doesn't carry steel rims anymore, so I would have to polish the aluminum and get new spokes. I can get the relace and mount done for free. Going with a Harley setup leaves me buying new forward controls, wheel, and rotar. Not sure which way to go.

Did you not just answer your own question????? The question was what was the cost of the relace and what size did he go with? Not sure what answer you you saw in that message, but thanks for the input. There were some thoughts about additional costs of going with a relace or a Harley wheel .

If you have the answers to the questions I would appreciate it from you also.

Its a 5.5 x 18 stainless rim. I bought it from Bigarmz so I saved a few bucks. The wheel wasn't done at buchanons though. www.blackbikewheels.com did the work.

Cost factor, If I didnt run into such a sweet deal, I would do the Harley Setup. Its cheaper (if you shop around) plus your getting rid of the drum brake. The only downer is if your not mechanically inclined, this is a tough mod.

I already have the VTX mod, and it is a great improvement over stock, but still not exactly what I want. I have a friend finishing the Harley Tech school here. I can get the actual relace and wheel trued for free it I do it before the semester ends. I guess my cost will be in getting the rim(s) drilled, spokes, and tire(s). I guess If I go with aluminum I can polish them myself.

I don't know.

I'm kind of at the sweet deal junction myself. I am mechanical, but there are alot of cost either way. Tires, spokes, and rims for a relace, Tires, wheels, different forwards, brake discs, and a caliper for the swap.

I have a friend that can lace, true and mount for free. I guess I can find a rear drum to start with and sell my VTX modded wheel and tire, maybe even my Mapams if I swap.
I don't know... I'm sure either way it is a pretty nice chunk of change.

Thanks for the link black bike wheels, I will check it out.

Back to your wheel for sale...I know I need a master cylinder for that disc brake, what other mods would I have to do to my bike in order to make that fit? Is there a front wheel to match?

All you would have to do with this wheel is get a master cylinder, get a brake line and either weld a brake say to your swing arm or you can bolt it to your swing arm like my buddy has done.

There is a matching wheel but I'm pretty sure it 's a 17''.

Heres a pic of a guy who has this wheel and found an aftermarket 21'' wheel to match. I think he did an excellent job.

Awesome! I want to try to find a master cylinder big enough I can run some type of proportioning valve and run front and rear brakes with just the pedal - clean up the bars of another lever. And I still want to do a jockey shift with the clutch on the shift arm.

Cool. Im glad you got it.

Black it out? That would be a shame to black out that chrome. From what I heard that wheel was a motherfucker to prep for chroming.

Post some pics when you get er on there! :)

I talked to Dale. He was askin me about the bungs and O-rings. I have another set of O-rings. I didn't use them. The bungs are a must though. I hope they are still in good condition. They were sweet when I sold em.

Heres a pic of them from last year with the signals mounted.

kick ass bike man, one of the nices i have seen, and the fork covers seems to be in good condition, yeah he gave me two part numbers, I ordered two of each, just waiting for them to come in! Come a long way on my bike for just having it two months, just need the wheels to complete it for now , at least this yr or when winter comes around. Where did you get the lights, they have the side of the covers drilled for lights but going to need some to put there, right now have changed my back lights but not the front.

I had kuryakyn halogen silver bullets. I had to cut the length of the kury bolt down and ran the wire out of the seem in the back of the upper cover.
