I'm looking for a new rear fender for my 1100. I've read in another thread to go with a 9" for the Sprits, but that's a different bike. Is this the size I need to look for also? I also just put a 200/70 rear tire on it, if that affects anything. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks - T

spirit and sabre are interchangeable. the ace is also but has different fender supports on the rear (ace has curved supports spirits and sabres are straight). but since yours are gone anyway it doesnt matter.
Is that front fender on your bike the section you cut of the rear fender?
I know your dont have ant rear suspension travel, but do you still have any on the front? looks alot better lowered like that

Thanks. The bike isn't finished yet. The final pic is what I'm planning on it to look like by the end of next month. It should have a fair amount of travel in the rear. I'm debating if I want to use the fender mounts or weld the fender to the swingarm. It'll have 11" Progressive 412's in the rear and the Progressive front lowering kit for the forks. The first pic in the animation is what it looked like when I bought it. Not real sure what the original owner did to the fenders, but they're pretty much useless to me now. I still haven't decided if I want to use a front fender or not. I also have the wider 150/80 in the front. As for the exhaust, I'm building that myself out of the stock pipes. I was going to go straight pipes all the way thru, but lots of people are telling me that I'll be getting all kinds of tickets from the noise. Plus I think I need at least a lil bit of backpressure on it, so I'm going to be using some 12" glasspacks. Having two "lumps" in my exhaust is prolly going to screw up the look of the bike a lil bit, but I'm hoping that it may add some character.

Pipe is cheap dude, why not make the pipes the way YOU want, if they are too loud change them. With the wrap, you can cut and weld and grind all you want and they won't show any marks from finishing them up. Also, check out thundercity and jireh cycles, not sure of the exact sites, but they have baffles you can put in the end of the pipes. Then you can have the look you want.
Off topic, but I noticed you still have the reflectors in your Feb 07 pic, are you gonna yank em? They'll prolly void your warranty, might want to keep them on second thought :)

hehe. thanks.
As for the reflectors, I found some black reflective tape that shines brite white. I'll probably put that on the sides of the rad.
I was thinking about getting baffles. Are they available in sizes small enought to fit the stock pipe? I'll have to do some looking around tonight I guess.
Right now the bike is in the shop. We can't get it to run. Not sure if the carbs are all gummed up or if it's the fuel pump. It'll start up with ether though. I just don't have the time to pull the carbs and all right now. OK. Well maybe I don't feel like dealing with it either. ;)
On a different note, how do I get rid of that fukkin tricycle? It's ruining my image, man!

dakota you say the Spirit and the Sabres are Interchangeable. Do you know if that goes for Gas Tanks as well. I have seen SurferNick has an ACE tank on SS750. There is ton of crap under that Tank. Thanks

yes the spirit and sabre tanks are interchangeable. but be aware Im talking the 1100 spirit and 1100 ace and 1100 sabre. there all vt1100s so accept for a few things like shifters you can swap most if not all parts. I have a sabre seat on my bike now, along with the sabre fork tube covers. I have a sabre fuel tank on a shelf in my shed right now (along with a different spirit rear fender) that Im moding to put on my bike now. the fit is the same but I dont wanna go without my bike while I try stretching mine tank. Im also looking for a red sabre front fender in good shape for mine right now since those are interchangeable also.

It runs now. Exhaust should be finished by the end of the week (with any luck). I just bought my fender yesterday. It's a WCC Tombstone. I can't stand Jesse James, but the fender just seems like it'd go so well with the bike.

I don't have any time to work on the bike, so I've had it at a friend's shop. I thought they'd get it fixed up for me, but instead they're taking their time. It's been there for over a month and all they've done is clean and rejet the carbs. I told them this past weekend that I'm going to start going over there to work on it myself. I wanted to be done with this thing by the end of the month. Not sure if that's going to happen now. I'll see if I can get a pic of the progress. Maybe after I get that rear fender though.
