Take your time, first of all, then start with the little things like the mirrors. Those are just threaded into your hand lever mounts. First loosend the locknut that holds them in place, and unscrew. The new ones go on in the reverse order.
You'll probably have to fight the grips to get them off. When I changed mine, I knew I wasn't gonna keep the OEM ones and just cut them off.
As for the rest, just use the search box at the top right, and type in what you want to find...

Remember...Take your time, and good luck!

The billski light is easy just follow the directions on his site.I will send you some instructions and connecters with the light. If you have any questions you can email me.
Turn signals you can mount where the stock ones were or get hollow bolts and mount on the fender strut or drill the fender. If you drill the fender use masking tape on the fender to protect the paint around the hole while drilling.

Headlight- there are some instructions in the mod section somewhere.

Sloooooow down there!!!
1st: switch to decaf. :wink_2:
2nd: remember it's riding season (s) so dont do anything that cant be taken care of quickly.
3rd: Pick one thing at a time and do a search. on the upper right of the screen, search for your subject matter. Then, if the info is not clear enough, post in the appropriate thread. Everyone here is more than willing to help. Look at the "stickys" there are quite a few in this section. and the "shop talk" section. I'm not being a bitch or anything, just trying to help a Noobie. This is the "common sense" way to get er done!
Finally: Relax, enjoy and be safe!

Although this isn't mod related, but I'd suggest you get yourself a Clymer manual or a Honda service manual for your bike. This may not seem like it would help with the questions you've asked. But all of the information about your bike would be contained in there. Wiring, how things are put together, and how to take them apart.
Save yourself some hassle and possibly some money down the road, buy a manual and then BEFORE you start something, read the section on it and get familiar with the parts. It doesn't sound like you are too familiar with the mechanics of the bike, that's why I'm suggesting this as your first step.

Also, since you are doing multiple things. Do one at a time to completion. Don't do one halfway then strat something else. It will only add to the frustration.

On the grips. You'll probably have to loosen the throttle cables to get the right side off. If you don't intend on reusing them just cut the left one off. Reconnect the throttle cable and adjust them so the throttle return works correctly.

Mirrors, in my opinion are an absolute pain in the ass. You wouldn't think it. But make sure that they are tight. Use some blue loctite on the threads to prevent vibrations from loosening them up.

The rear sigs is your call on the location. I mounted Susan's to the fender. That did require drilling holes. Some folks go with the fender strut mount. Wiring is simple. Take Jakes advice and get a manual. It'll help with any questions you might have.

Cowboy will hook you up on the Billski. The directions are great, although I know that some Shadows wiring colors are different. Bill address' this on his site. www.billski182.com

If you have any other questions feel free to ask. Good Luck

Another thing that works well with keeping mirrors tight (it also helps taking up the vibration a little) is using teflon tape on the threads. It will keep the mirror from loosening as well as allowing you the ability to adjust it (locktite isn't as forgiving, if you use that ensure you have it set right before it dries). The teflon tape also seems to insulate a little and keeps some of the vibration from transmitting up to the mirrors. I have the Kuryakin eclipse mirrors and used the teflon tape method and haven't had a problem with them yet. I didn't even have to tighten them after switching bars.
With your mirrors, did you buy the metric to standard adapter???? If not, you may need to look at that before you proceed.

Now there's a smart lady! FF buy her some roses, or whatever her favorite flower is.:thumb:
All good points, especially your second one. I guess my mind is even less sharp @ 2 A.M. :laugh4:

Rusty, I just put mirrors on mine, but I just put them on sooo...the teflon tape sounds like a good idea, I'm gonna try that. But I gotta ask...

If nothing sticks to teflon, then what will teflon tape stick to?:headscrat

and all shall be answered. We could get into a discussion about molecular bonds and how certain atoms of one molecule will attached to others, but then I'll get in trouble for going "off-topic" and I wouldn't want to do that! :rolleyes5

Did that...It brought me back here again. :laugh4:

Just so we don't go "off-topic" here, what you are saying to DOUBBLED is...use the search button and his question should be answered?
