I already rejetted for pipes. CP said I need to get a kit to get the needles and 135 & 138 main jets and #42 slow jet.I thought you dont have to change the needles after the stage one just the jets?
Where is a good place to get the jets?

This is definately a question for Nav. I'm sure that he'll pop in and be able to rattle off all kinds of jet sizes to ya. Try searching too, I'm pretty sure that this was asked before.

I'm using my stage 1 needles from my dynojet kit with the 135/138 (#42 main) jets from factorypro.
I know there is a difference in the needles, but the one from dynojet stage 1 seems to work fine for me. I've got the bootleg from CP as well. You may want to get a range of jets from 132 up to 140 just in case the 135/138 doesn't work for your application.

What clip do you run your needles on ? I am running the same with the beanbox and am still a little lean . I am on the 3rd clip .

Mine is on the third clip as well. I'm at sea level here.

I can't see the beanbox feeding more air at speed then a bootleg. I could be wrong. Is the lean condition on a WOT test or is it from just checking the plugs after riding? Maybe it's your idle circuit that's not giving enough fuel if you are showing lean after idling. Does your bike pop on decel? Does it accellerate without any problems? I know if I put on the cover that I got from Widow it will run a tad rich. My plugs are normally a nice tan color.
I was running the colder plugs (I do mainly highway driving) and on a suggestion from Nav I switched back to the hotter plugs. I had only idled my bike and driven it down the local street here with the colder plugs and they looked as if they were fouling. I haven't had an opportunity to run the bike and retest the plugs at idle. But I'm interested to see if the hotter plugs make any difference with the rain cover.

Are the jets that factorypro sells the same as dynojet or do they make there own?

They are different. FactoryPro jets are not the same opening as the jets from dynojet. If I can find the link, I have a great article that explains the differences. I'll see if I can't find it.

Check out these sites this one (http://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/tech/jetkit/) or look here (http://www.motorcyclecarbs.com/jetting/default.htm)
The first link gives some good info about what to look for, the other will give you an idea on the differences in jets and sizes and how to get a starting point.
another:

I still can't find the link I had that had showed the differences in the jet size between brands. It was a great article because it listed the main brands of kits available and had a comparison.

Cowboy,
Here is where I'd go to get the Dynojet main jets, the DJ style is what you'll need.
http://www.dynojet.com/jetkits/jetassortment.php

As I understand it, Thunder Air Products Stage 3 kit for the 750's uses the Stage 1 needles from an 1183 kit, which fits the '98-'03 750 ACE. They claim that this kit is better suited for use with their Tornados and Hurricaines. I cannot verirfy that this is correct, but other's running the set-up don't seem to have too many problems with it. You shouldn't have to change to different needles, but you may find that you need to reposition them.

Hope this helps!

Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I've been out riding ALL weekend! Logged about 500 miles Sat. and Sun!
Oh! That motocross.com/motoprof site that RustyJake linked for you is one of my favorite sites to send people to, to read up on the operation of their carburetors. Good info!

I emailed dynojet here is what they said for anyone doing the bootleg.

We do not replace pilot jets with our jet kits. You will want to use a
Dynojet 134/138 main jets, with the Dynojet needle on groove number 4.
Set the fuel mixture screw to 2.5 turns. This should be very close to what
you are going to need.

Where do you count from? Is it four from the top or four from the bottom?
