It's a strut used to lower the VLX.

that's a sweet looking bike!!! I may need to get a vlx for a 2nd bike or a yami vstar!!!

I got a broken vlx . I bought it because I was young and broke . I rode a CBR before it and the HP drop made me hate it . My brother laid it down 10 years ago and I have not done a thing to fix it in all that time . I took 10 years off of riding after that bike .
