Stuff required to do one side:
1. craftsman inspection mirror about $10
1. 1"piece of 1" Al, brass, steel, nylon etc. rod, $ vary.
1. nipple type grease fitting, maybe $2 tops
How it goes,
remove handle grip from side mirror is to be installed on.
If you have stock bars, remove the damper.
turn down rod on sander/ grinder, file, or sand paper, until it will slide into the bar end.
:stop: Caution never ever put Al or Brass to a stone wheeled bench grinder.
push rod into bar 3/16" - 1/4" passed flush, depending on grips used.
Drill a hole into the bar and the rod, You don't have to go all the way through it.
tap the hole if you want then use a larger drill bit to countersink the bar and install a flush head screw. Another choice is to push a roll pin into the hole, the grip will hold it in place.
Drill the end of the rod and tap to fit the threads on the grease fitting.
Install the grease fitting with Lock- tite, or other thread sealer.
Drill a 1/4" hole through the end of the grip, then install it, use liquid dishwashing soap for this.
Loosen the screw on the mirror hinge and remove the handle, then attach the mirror to the grease fitting. you could slide some heat shrink over the hinge if you want to hide it further.
You are ready to ride
