Waynes memorial

We had my buddy Wayne's memorial service yesterday. It was kinda tough as he wanted to be cremated, his remains weren't even there. His mom wanted me and my pal Kathy (another FF) to carry his boots and helmet to the altar in church. I was honored to do it, but when I put them down I totally lost it. Great service though. The Chief read a eulogy that his mom had written. Everybody laughed when he mentioned Waynes big bear hugs, and the whole church applauded because the eulogy ended with his most popular saying "It is what it is!"
I couldn't believe how many people showed up, there had to be about 200 people in church.
Afterwards there was a get together at a bar in Providence owned by the same guys that run the other joints Wayne bounced at including the Foxy Lady. Like my brother said after church, You can't hide strippers no matter how you dress em up.
I was sitting there talking and next thing I know this hot brunette is pointing at me. Well, the bartender had been giving guys body shots. My buddy Jay was trying to talk this girl that was sitting at the bar into let me do one off of her. All the guys were saying "Let me do one." This is one time it paid off to be shy. She said "I'll only do one and only with him" as she pointed at me. Next thing I know she's straddling me with her shirt off and you can figure out the rest. It was a great send off for a great guy, even though when I got in my car I started bawling my eyes out. Damn it, I'm getting tears in my eyes talking about it.

I want more body shots. Turns out she is a bartender at the Foxy Lady. The bartender promised me a body shot next time I come in, needless to say that will be soon. I'm hooking up camera now for the pics.

That story is pure badazz!

I have told my wife many times that when I go, I do not want all that hanging around a funeral home. I want everyone over at the house with the Bar-B-Que pit going the Budweiser flowing and Zepplin jamming on the stereo just like always - only difference is there will be a little less shit talking becasue I won't be there!

We went out to Hooters Wednesday night. It would have been Wayne's 38th birthday and that's where we would have been. I had planned this a couple of weeks ago. Everybody loved it cuz I brought along a pic of him standing in front of Engine 3 and put it on the table. Had my buddy take my picture with some of the girls and the pic.
Afterward 4 of us went to one of the bars he had worked at. The owner told the bartender not to charge us for the whole night. She was the same girl people did body shots off after his memorial service last month. I got a pic with her too. The cool thing was that they had a picture of Wayne hanging on the wall facing the bar like he was watching over it. It was the pic I had given his mom from the last time we went out to Hooters before his accident, she gave it to them to hang up! It was a great night. They closed at 1am but we stayed til about 2. Some of the strippers from the Foxy Lady across the street came over for a drink too, its owned by the same guys. Finally rolled in about 3am and had to get up at 530am.
Have to get rid of some old pics so I can post those for ya. It keeps telling me I'm over quota or something like that.
