Do you guys know if the Shadow ACE cams from designedperformance.com will work on our 750 Aero's; or do you know who makes cams for our bikes?
I have V&H Straightshots, removed the snorkle and jetted to a 140 (recommended in the Dynojet instructions)
0-60 is a good deal quicker, lost some of the torque feel though,
any thoughts?
Thanks,
MiKe

You should email or call design performance and ask them...

yes they DO fit but you have to put them in backwards and change the firing order. you also need to have the factory intake and carb jets, and the ONLY way to get any power out of it is to run a 150mm rear tire or it screws up the timing.
Hope this helps ya!

I don't think it's worth F'n with.... The return on investment will be nil... You may get a bit, tiny tiny bit more out of it, but hey it's a 750 Vtwin with a single carb... you get what you got... If you've got some good pipes, rejetted, gotten rid of the snorkel, and have done something (K&N filter or intake) to help it breathe, then that's about all your gonna get out of it.
There is no replacement for displacement...

I know a guy who did it over on TSW. He did cams and pistons. He got quite a bit more power out of it and it sounded great. (we ride together sometimes)
Also our bikes have 2 carbs, not one.

Not trying to be a smartass, just some facts. Someone ought to adapt the 38mm from the VTX1300.

Ya, my bad. I was drinkin and thought I was on spirit 750 thread. BUT, some cams and pistons would increase your power. Too bd it's so expensive. :(

I was checking oem part numbers, and was suprised at how many new part numbers are in the Aero 750 valve train. Actually looks like Honda designed a whole brand new engine.

Damn, I really screwed up when I put a jet kit in my brothers 05 Aero 750. I only did one carb. Luckily, it ran pretty good!

You know, I straight up asked David at DP why he went to the single on the SS750. He said mainly for ease of tuning/dialing it in. A bike like the 750 can run great with a single carb. But for max power, you can't beat a set of properly tuned dual carbs. The single will usually give you better low to mid, with the duals increasing power mid and up. Honda is switching everything to singles, probably for simplicity and ease of maintenance.

they SHOULD give up on the carb all together and go all injected

I'm with you there. Power Commanders and the like are expensive, but the tuning possibilities are almost endless.

Hiding all the sensors and the like that go along with injection would be great fun!
YOU tell me how to make a conversion kit, and WE'LL make millions!

I havn't spent any time looking, but I have seen something where there is a company in England that can add fuel injection to about anything. I might do some digging when I get a chance.
