question?? i out on cobra slashcut drags when i first purchased my baby.
the baffles are still in them-(2003 ss750)- should i have rejetted or adjusted
the air fuel mix screws???,,eversince i put them on the exhaust has a real strong
raw fuel smell and when i get on the throttle one of my buddys said there is
a little black smoke out of the exhaust,i also noticed that there is alot of black
sute it the end of the pipes..
Some people have rejetted and some have not. Your original pipes would have some sort of soot as well. It there any kind of popping or backfire? If not I would not worry so much except for the black smoke which means the bike is a tad rich (air to fuel ratio). Is the black smoke a lot and at all times, or just when it is cold? It is normal to have a rich mixture when the ride is cold.

Razor I had the same problem with the same pipes. It's all in the rejetting
I had the bike rejetted by some jackass that didn't know what he was doing.
When I switched over to Burbs I had anothor person rejet it, and it cured the problem
