Ok so I have a Shadow 600 and I took the battery out to recharge it, put it back in and all was well and right with the world. It turned over, puttered out and when i went to start it again i heard a click. Thought i blew a fues but i checked and no it wasnt that. I am getting juice from my battery to my fueses but somewhere along the way nadda... No head lights no nothing. what do you all think?

I'd check your starter and see if you've got power there. The click, however, sorta screams bad starter to me.

If I understand, you have no power anywhere?? Check the battery connections first.
If you aren't getting power thru the fuse block, I believe that there is also a main fuse behind the left side panel. Did you check that?

Use an auto to jumpstart the bike and update us. You may want to test the battery with a small hydrometer before you continue. In any event, please remove any battery issues from the list before you move on.

I think if you take a test light and ground the clip on the test light and then touch the prob on the test light to the negative terminal and the light lights up (it would be dim) then you have something grounding out.. Under normal conditions when all is good the light should not light up at all...
Like I said "I think" I have heard this before

Is the battery in top condition?
As far as i know, just bought it last year so it should be.

Just because you got it last year doesn't mean that it's good this year. Was it stored on a trickle charger for the winter? If it's not a sealed battery, have you checked the water level in each cell?

No, it was stored in the house, then before i put it back in the bike i put it on a charger and it is charged fully. I had someone check the battery for me and he said that the battery was a good one. so i am assuming that he knows what hes talking about. Of course you know what happens when i assume....

Well TEENER, Now that you've ruled out the battery and all the fuses are in check I'd suspect a faulty ground. The main harness grounds are usually larger diameter wires having green insulation and fastened to the frame somewhere under the seat and behind the side covers. You will prolly have to remove the one/s you locate and lightly sand the contact areas of both the grounding lug and the part of the frame it mates to. Also check that the wire is properly crimped at the lug and there're no noticable breaks in the line (a meter would come in handy for this).
Also, with key ON is there power on both sides of the main fuse?
and
Have any modifications been performed recently?
...and am I correct in assuming ALL power is lost? (ie...no instrument indicators, turn signals, tail light, etc.)
Thanks for keeping the board up-to-date :thumb:

Sounds like you already checked this - but I had one of the connections going into my fusebox pull loose. You could not see it or even tell visually - it just pulled out enough to disrupt the circuit. Once I was finally able to determine that was the problem I was able to shove it back in and have not had any problems since.
Also if you have a "quick-connect" for your charger try removing it - I have heard several stories of problems with those.
