I could not believe it! When I was at the Easyriders show, the biggest baddest looking "biker" dudes, all in stereotypical shady biker duds, were walking around with these little tinkerbells hanging off of them so they jingled when they walked! I was like WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!?
Some were even wearing spurs.. wtf?

They were wearing them ? Spurs ? That is gay ! I have a few friends that run biker bells on their rides . I would not be against the idea . I just don't think I would buy one . I know that I would never wear one or spurs .

Why no , could you be a little more obvious ? I can't talk to much I have been known to wear chaps . I figure that if I put a biker bell on my ride a fairing and racoontail could not be too far behind .

Dude, c'mon, admit it. You don't have to hide it anymore, you saw that at the convention in Vegas.

I finally bought a pair of chaps. I hate the look of them, but I have to admit they were nice on a four hour highway trip. It was interesting when I stopped and worked to get them off before anyone saw me in them. I also have a pair of spurs, but would have never thought to wear them when I was on the bike.

I'm going to side with FFslady on the bell thing. It's not the bell, it's the meaning behind it. I got a bell for each person I had any influence on with them getting onto a bike. I got one for my wife at Christmas as well.
If you don't know the story behind the bell, it may be hard to understand. I know Iceman used to pop in on the old forum and he's over at TSW a lot. I got my bell from him. http://www.mac-designs.com the story is included with a purchase and 1.00 from the 5.00 purchase price goes towards cancer research.
It's not the gift, but the thought......give one to someone you care about.

Come on Guys I have a pair of baggy chaps.. thinking about using the leather to make a new seat cover.. sure is big enough. Saw the bells on a few bikes hanging off the front end . Mostly Harleys...at Daytona.. sure wish some of you had showed up we were at the K-mart parking Lot Sat. at 1pm 13 Sabre riders looking for some Shadows to show up... would have been a nice meet and greet.

Hey now , I said a few of my friends ride with them . I also said I was not against them or putting one on my bike . I did say I would not wear one . If it was for cancer research I would by one and proudly display it on my bike . I was unaware that is what they where for . I have allways heard to ward of Gremlins . HD riders fear Gremlins . :sign chil

Sorry if I gave the impression these were for cancer research. They aren't, it's just something he does when he sells one of his bells. He does include the story of the bell in a frameable scroll. I bought mine from him because he was a member over at TSW and seeing a portion went to a specific cause that has touched just about every family, it made it just that much more a right choice. A few years back you didn't see many of them, but year by year you are seeing more and more as people get them as gifts.
Now I just need to find a spider bell...............

Spider bell ?

RustyJake

they have bells now that are keychains as well as the old standard tied on bell. Some are done with firehydrants (as with airportFF's) some have roses on them (FFslady), and all sorts of stuff etched or casted in them.
I'm not trying to ward off evil spiders, just trying to find a bell that will kind of follow the theme of the bike.

It would probably depend on the bike on how much you hear it. It's not a very big bell and the noise from the ones I got from him are brass. They don't have a very loud chime at all. I don't think I'd hear it on my bike. On my wife's v-star (we just got it last weekend) she hasn't had a chance to get out and ride it much, been raining all week. I'm sure she'd be able to hear it a little at idle if it were to move. Being shaft driven and stock pipes I don't even think she'd hear it while driving. It's just not that big of a bell. (it's about 1" x 1" approximately)

sorry if i offended anybody---geeezzz i know the bells serve a purpose i just
thought it was funny the title----to ward off evil "spirits" ((our shadow spirits))
as for the chaps why would anybody be ashamed of wearing chaps..
maybe if you guys would wear something under them and not ride bare naked
ass showing, nobody would give you shit... :wink_2:
this is what i wear---there go over your jeans..

My friends just think they look gay . I still wear them , I don't care . It just starts up after a few beers about how gay I look in my chaps . One of these days I will ride over to my friends in my chaps and a thong and see if that shuts him up .
