has anyone looked into putting a VTX1800 rear rim on the 1100's? Its a 16X5.5 rim which should be perfect for a 200 low profile tire. I know this would mean converting to a rear disk brake but considering that some 1100's come with a rear brake it should be a fairly simple swap. Has anyone looked to see if the shaft drives are compatable?

A blast from the past.

So, did you ever get an answer ?

I never did and have never got to see the inside of a VTX rim to try and see if the mounting was the same.

Thanks for the update.

I'll need a new rear tire mighty soon so I figured I would look into the wheel swap.
Guess the stocker will stay a bit longer but might squeeze a 200 on it.

or not.

That's a great idea. I wish I knew more about it. The only set-back I could see is that it's a wider application, which might mean that the shaft is offset more. I really hope you figure something out! Please post when you do!
I've decided to attempt a wide tire conversion to mine also, but I'm gonna try digging into the tranny to convert it to chain drive. Who knows what's gonna happen...

Had to replace the rear tire so I got a 200 and slapped it onto the stock rim.
Fits quite nice and the bike rides much better.

No way!
That's awesome!
Tell me more about that! What did they say about the rim size?

Must be.
The tire sits just right and the 200 70 15 is listed as an alternative size for the 1100.

Lucky us 1100 riders.
