August 12th coming up there's a ride being put on by a local radio station to come over to Vancouver Island.
Here's the info on it:
Carter Motorsports Ride itinerary for Saturday August 12th
8:15 - Meet in the Park n Ride on Highway 17 before the Tsawwassen ferry terminal
9 am- ferry to Swartz Bay
Ride Island Highway north to Nanoose Bay’s Rocking Horse pub to set up camp on the property
(directions: turn right on Northwest bay Rd, follow around, pub on left hand side at Sanders Rd)
1:45 pm- Leave Rocking Horse pub for Port Alberni
2:30 pm- lunch at the old McLean Steam Sawmill Restaurant in Port Alberni.
• Optional- ˝ hour ride in a 1929 (90 ton) steam locomotive No. 7 to the Old Mill Site (A trip you’ll never forget)
• Optional- Try your hand at being a head sawyer from back in the day in a 1926 steam sawmill.
• Optional- Stop in at the legendary Cathedral Grove to see the Giant Douglas Firs
7:30ish – Giant pig roast put on by the Cops for Cancer. By donation. Prizes & 50/50 draw.
9 pm ish- Live classic rock with the Shawn Carle Band.
Camping, Riding, and Classic Rock. Could it get any better?
