Ok Ladies tell me, what is your favorite gear while riding?
I personally prefer 2nd, it has such a nice pulsation.
3rd is low & nice but, 2nd really does it for me. :wink3:

I should mention that I'm not only a NOOB to the board but also
a NOOB on the bike well, driving one anyway.
In fact I am heading up to the DMV tomorrow after work to
take the written test & then start getting my practice in
along side my coach (M@Mann)
Just felt like clarifying all that. Wish me luck!

I took one of those before I got my bike. First time operating one! Then bought a bike and had to bring it home on the highway. It was great though, if you passed their test, you didn't have to take the registry's test!
GOOD LUCK ALL!!!

I passed!! :wiggle:
I left work early, went to the DMV,
sat around for about 20 minutes,
took the written exam, passed & got my learners permit.
M@Man & I were going for our first ride when 2 of our
buddies pulled up on their bikes,... so we all went for a cruise.
What a great day! :wink_2:

I tell ya what,I've rode on and off for years! There is nobody on this forum,or any other that couldnt learn alittle something from a good riding coarse.you just be confident, and be safe, and if that ole man paces you to fast, just lay back and when you catch up with him at the rest stop kick him in the nads and then say "O.K.
you ride uncomfortable! )
Watch the curves, learn to use the front brake ALOT!,Always think a dog,a dear,or a cage is just waiting to eat you!!And Im not real religious at all,but ask the man you believe in to keep you,and your bike in good condition before you ever put it in gear each and every time. Then twist that throttle and enjoy!

CONGRATS!!!
Glad to see you made it!!
I rode with my brother for a couple months before my safety course was ready for me.
IT FELT SOO GOOD to get on the road. My driveway was getting a little boring and the neighbors were starting to stare. I practiced clutching in the driveway for about 2 weeks before I got the permit.
O HAPPY DAY!!
I just turned over my first 1100 miles. I only started riding last September, so minus the winter months, I am still pretty green. COME ON SUMMER!! :sun_smile

Thanks Tangledj,
M@Man did go a little fast that first time out but, we talked about it & we're
working on it together. You said always think a dog, a deer, or a cage is
just waiting to eat you.....that is so true & man, did using all my senses
that first day wear me out! It was a real mental work out.
Last but not least, I'm so glad that you mentioned saying a prayer before
heading out, I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't done that but
I should have & I will from now on, thanks for the reminder.

I'd like to add my "congrats" to you as well. I got my endorsement a few months back, I heard some states actually take you out on the road. Here in Fla, we have to do it in the parking lot! :wink_2:

It's been a great year to ride for us here in Illinios. It never rains here. So how's it going C@woman? Learning, enjoying? I remember the day I got my license. I rode all day, but it was windy as hell. It's been many years now, but I love riding. It's the best thing. How far are you from starved rock?

Wow, I don't know how I ever missed this post. Sorry man. My hips & shoulders are getting loser for me on the bike & it feels great! Riding is really cool, it clears my mind or maybe because I'm concentrating on where my bike is going but it makes me forget about all those little annoying things that can drag you down in a day, you know? I've got my eye on a VLX now because I feel like I have out grown my 535 Virago. A buddy of mine let me ride his & that's all it took was just one ride.
I'm not sure but I think that Starved Rock is about a 90-minute drive from here.
