Cheapest gas was $3.11 today... had to hunt for that price! The Oil Barons must be living large right now and are setting the stage for the summer hike in price! Flex cars are running in Brazil with Ethanol or Gas. GM and Ford can't keep up with demand in Brazil for Flex cars. They can start building plants here next to every big farm and paper mill and we can go Flex next! I'm sick of this shit! But we do have a secret weapon... our bikes! That's right you oil bastards, we can ride our bikes all summer!
FUCK OFF BIG OIL!:madani:

Solve all the problems, ban anything on the road with more than 2 wheels! Ship stuff by train. No traffic, less gas used, solves all the problems!

Once the trickle down effects of this are felt. Such as increased shipping rates, layoffs, and basically an increase in everything that requires fuel to produce or transport. The revolution will start. I've about had it with hearing about Exxon/Mobil's 26 billion dollar profit while the people that helped them get that profit get fucked at every turn.:madani:

I totally agree that these prices suck and the top execs of the oil companies are getting the biggest piece of the pie. But, lets remember one thing.... a book called The Goal.... the bible of big business a few years back. To quote the author, the ultimate goal of business (ANY BUSINESS) is to "increase shareholder value". That means that EVERYONE who owns stock in an oil company, participates in a mutual fund that invests in oil futures, or in any way gains value from high oil prices is at fault!:pissed: :madani: :bomb: This even trickles down to the cashier at the quickie mart who is making more than minimum wage and the overpaid union production operator at the refinery who is driving a brand new Escalade with 20's.
P.S. I got gas this morning for $2.67

In Brazil the government provides incentive to buyers with cars under 1,000 CC engine. Trust me, there are a shit load of gas consuming vehicles there as well. Also, tax discount if you assamble locally or over 50% tax if you import (helps their unemployment)

No shit AFF, we are paying $3.14 a gallon here and they say that's 40 cents higher than the state average! What is the station at the south wye in Sandy charging, Shadow? They are usually the cheapest around!

There are a lot of factors for the price and it's all %@#$!!!!! Buyers speculate about prices for future purchases and everytime someone in the M.E. sneezes, the prices go up. OPEC has us over a barrel (no pun intended), our refinery capacity hasn't gone up in the last 30 years so we can't refine the oil we have, polution regulations require some 30 different blends of gas which causes all sorts of problems, and of course the oil companies are making tons and tons of money while not drilling new wells or building new refineries thanks to the environmentalists.
Putting a limit on the engine size isn't going to help. Our population is much larger than it was 20 years ago and there are more drivers. What would help is to switch to alcohol like Brazil did, but it takes more energy to make it from grain than it does from sugar cane like they do. So we're stuck there unless we can figure out a way to make it from sugar. Bio-diesel is a potential replacement and it is readily available, though not in the quantities we need.
Not buying gas on the 15th won't help things at all, but not driving at all one day would. If everyone picked a day they normally drive and either ride with someone or take public transportation where it's available it would help a lot. If we did that more often we'd see a tremendous drop in usage which means the price would have to drop accordingly.
Consumption vs. supply - that's where the prices are set.

the only factor to look at is oil companys are making a friggen fortune and getting tax breaks, in reality the us has at a minimum of 50-60 years of fuel supply, but the thing i notice is during the spring summer monthes, fuel prices skyrocket.:knife:

I suppose you can believe that if you want, but I know a few people in the oil industry, one of them being my uncle. He's a buyer that works out of his house and I can assure you he's not rich. The prices artificially go up in the summer to pad the coffers in case OPEC drives the prices up from the extra demand. I also believe there are a lot of other artificial price hike reasons, but it's not just the fault of the companies.
