Hello everyone, I have a slight problem and would love some good ideas on how to solve it. Ok problem is a fucking neighbors dog two houses down from me loves to chase cars and bikes. When he hears my bike coming he is sitting by the damn road waiting to charge out at me. Now this dog is a nice big doberman pincher. I have tryed everything including running him over and one time i went real slow and let him get right up on me and kicked his head off with my boot. Now i know im not the only person in the would that has run into this kind of shit with dogs so i figure i could get some really nice info here. I know i could just pull on a gun and blow his head off as i pass by but im looking for something a little less aggressive.......... :madani: :madani: :madani: :madani: :madani: :madani: :madani:

Here in Cali you have to keep your dog in the yard behind gates. Call animal control and report the owner. They will get the message when the fines come rolling in. Also, get some video footage of him in action to share with the animal control officers. I own a Dobe and would hate to hear that you hurt the dog.

A little antifreeze for him to drink would do the trick. Another way is a baseball bat to the head as you ride by. My dad and I used to have problems with some guys that thought it was fun to send their Dobi's after us when we were bicycle riding. Antifreeze mixed with some nice canned dog food took care of that problem.

So the answer is to fuck up or kill the dog? The owner is not at fault here? With that logic I guess ban fucking guns because they are to blame not the fucking assholes who kill people with them!
I own Dobe and she doesn't chase people down the street because I trained the dog not too!

Hay my dad had the same problem until he used rotten fish. The dog used to rome around the neighbor hood and chase him. So he put out so rotten fish witch the dog loved to roll in and go home. I guess the owner didn't like the smell, so no more dog problem. They kept the dog in their fenced yard. (haha)

Do like Airport suggested. May take a few sprays but the dog will get the idea.....or pick up a can of mace and use that. Same effect - wont cause permanent damage but will teach the dog that you are persona non gratis.

I hear you. It is nice to talk about the legal ways to handle it, and in the city there are ways. When you live in the country there are no laws that say the dogs have to stay in a fenced yard. The only time the law will get involved is if the dog actually attacks someone. Just wish you neighbor would have pulled to trigger twice and put an end to the problem.

Check with your local animal control.
We had issues with a neighbor's dog (Doberman) in our yard (we live in the country too). If the dog is leaving his yard and is acting in an aggressive manner (chasing would be considered aggressive), they will remove the dog and make him come and get it. He will have to pay fines and will be advised to keep his dog on his property, under his control.
If the situation continues, they will remove the dog from the premises and he will have to go to Court.
This keeps you out of the situation and not harming the animal.
It's not the dog's fault, it's the owner for not being responsible. Mace the owner and maybe he'll get the point. :laugh4:
Our situation was different in that the dog was entering our yard (we live a few houses down the road) and was behaving aggressively toward us and our neighbors across the road. The owner would not do anything about it - didn't think it was an issue to have his dog in our yard. :pissed: Animal control took over and the situation has resolved itself. The officer was familiar with this dog, confirmed that it was aggressive and would not enter their property without his gun drawn...turns out this moron has invisible fence and DIDN'T TURN IT ON! He didn't think he needed it anymore...IDIOT!

Why dont you be a FUCKING MAN and talk to the owners? Im the owner of a VERY well trained pitbull, and even though she poses no problem to anybody, I would appreciate it if someone came to me before calling animal control or any other shit that you a re talking about. ALSO, be carefull. People are as protective about their dogs as their children. I would have already slit your fucking throat for the things you have dont to the dog, if it was mine. I AGREE WITH YOU, that it is a big problem that the dog runs out of the yard and into your bike. Thats very dangerous and annnopying, and you should not have to deal with that. Have you tried to talk to these people, BEFORE you kicked it.??? Not to call you out, i seriously dont have time for an online quarrel, trust me i have bigger fish to fry. But seriously dude, maybe you should take a step back, and evaluate your manhood, if you think kicking a dog with AN IQ OF FUCKING 20 makes you a badass. As For The Owner Talking To Him Would Be Like Talking To A Fucking Zit On My Ass. He Doesnt Care What The Dog Does. If Talking To Him Would Bring A Fix I Would Have Already Been There. As For Pitbulls They All Should Be Banned Period.

Naw man, dont get upset about it, its really not a big deal. You are however, misled about this breed. They are an incredibly loyal breed, and their biggest joy in life is doing what they believe pleases the owner.( ofcourse they can only rely on what they they are rewarded for). It goes without saying however, that some people are unfit to be responsible for a dog that is capable of such dicipline, because it is that very trait that makes them charectoristic of stubbornness, agressivness. They act out in the way that they believe pleases their owner, so if they have been praised in the past for aggressive behavior, this is the way they will act, in belief that this is what pleases the owner. Neglect, is also a huge issue, as if a dog as athletic as the ones we are talking about is untrained or ignored, they do not know how to behave. This can intimidate those who are afraid of, or do not like dogs like yourself. ( note your afforementioned general dislike for dogs.) I have surely read the news, and actuially have had quite a large role in blocking breed spacific legislation, . Just because the owners are retards, does not make these issues the dogs fault. Should we then also exterminate, and ban any future children because of the chance that they may be born to parents that may teach them bad habits? A considerable amount of damage is done each year by troubled teens and young adult gang members. perhaps as a preventative measure, we should place a ban on having any more kids in this country.

I don't think this is a debate easily won by any side. Rightfully so, quietprofessional states that owners are ultimately responsible for their dogs. Do bad guns kill people???? No, it's the owners or persons using the guns. Are some guns worse then others? Yeah, are some banned, sure. Gun right activists will say the same thing, and they are correct. In the hands of the wrong people guns kill people. It's no different then dogs. Sure, some dogs have been bred for their abilities to hunt, track, and some for fighting. Can these traits be changed? Yes they can, but it takes the right responsible owners. Most of the people getting the 'hot dog' of the times for appearances have no intentions of raising the dog responsibly. They want the dog to envoke fear in people (We've seen this go from German Shepards, Dobies, and to present pit bulls and such). What's the flavour of the month? That's the dog of choice for these people. Is it the dog's fault, no it's not. But they pay the ultimate price for people's stupidity. Until we start to hold the owners responsible for their dog's actions, this will continue.
I'm not from Peta, I have a large breed dog that is considered a dangerous breed by some. But in reality, she's probably the kindest and gentlest dog you'd ever meet. Correct training and upbringing works. Just keep in mind that more people are bit by poodles and chiahua's then any other breeds. They by far are the most vicous breeds of dogs. Why aren't they banned??? It has to do with the amount of damage they inflict...........
It's the owner that's responsible for their dog/pet. In reality, it's not the owner that pays the greatest price.

Transferance....
Count to ten boys...
Points that have been made on this thread include but are not limited to:
1. The Dob in question is the core a public safty issue.
2. Three means of dealing with the problem have been identified:
A. Deal with the dog.
B. Deal with the owner.
C. Let a local authority deal with the problem.
3. Dob owners feel like they have a stick in the fire because they see this as an issue of ownership responsibility beyond anything else.
4. Those more removed from that postion see this as a simple cause and affect issue limited to the animal and nothing else.
There is no need to get feathers in a ruff as it isn't going to settle anything because the postions and observations are too far apart, and it isn't likely that they would be able to find common ground let alone be able to view it from the others perspective.
Therefore the obviouse solution is to bring in the local authority who HAS the responsibility to maintain public saftey, to resolve the problem. This will likely fall hardest on the owner of the Dob, but could eventually result in the Dob being put down as well.
Unresponsible pet owners typically have one thing in common; that is that they tend to be self-absorbed and care little about the aniamal, it is ALL about them.
Addressing the issue with the owner would likely not resolve the conflict without a physical altercation that could prove costly to all parties.
Addressing the issue with the dog does not addresss the core source of the problem. If you killed the animal does this change the owners attitude? No. While you might suceed in training the Dob to not chase your bike, have you taught it to respect the rest of the community? No.
Only bringing the local authority to deal with the issue has any promise of resolution. It requires the least involvement of the complaintant, and provides a paper trail should the problem continue which will force the elimination of the public saftey issue.

As long as it gets solved before someone gets bit or the dog causes a motorcycle accident. Be very careful until the dog problem is solved! That would be a very big "bump" in the road, if you know what I mean:yes: Maybe a shock collar for the owner would be in order?????

As some one who has owned/bred Pitbulls and belonged to the Beaver state Pitbull club. I can say that they take extra care to be safe. I trained my dog for 4 hours a day for shows! 2 hours of walking in circles and getting him to obey comands. 2 hours of sled training. That is where they pull weight. Pitbulls are fine dogs when cared for by responsable owners. I was attacked by a nieghbors Dobie while jogging. The owner was mad at me for running alone on a country road and killing her dog in self defence. I was pretty angry to find out she was the owner and did not try to call off the dog or have it on a leash or behind a fence. I remember the feeling of terror I had as the thing chased me. I also remember the look of anguish she had when she watched me beat her dog to death with her own shovel. I never ran past her house agian. My only regret is that I did not hit her with that bloody shovel for putting me and her dog thru that. On the brite side, I did tell her to "Fuck off!" when I gave the shovel back!

I think the crux of the problem is the dogs in question here are normally more intelligent than the owner (at least in our situation it was true).
Folks who buy these dogs because they're "kewl", don't know how to train/handle them. ANY dog not handled correctly can be dangerous - no matter how large or small.

I like the way you put it to the owner. Gave him a chance to do what he should have been doing and let him know what would happen if he didn't. Unfortunately if it comes to killing something it always has to be the animal. They put you in jail for killing the real root of the problem.

If this doesn't work out for ya, you could always try a variation/combination of the above.... chain up the owner, feed him old fish (laced with ExLax), and hit a few times (in carefully selected areas) with the cattle prod.... :knife:

The dog owner was being a slag ass at finding someone to take the dog so i gave him some help. Since i had a computer and my local newspaper would let you list items for free i thought well. So i put him a nice little listing on there with his phone number and the dog was gone within 3 days....... :drink: Ill drink to that...............
