Hey guys,
any suggestions on what product is available to add a Throttle Lock to a 98 ACT Shadow. Honda does'nt make and no aftermarket is suggested..... Are we just doomed.
Thanks :gossip: :help:

I can't belive this! 2 posts and nobody has said...

Fuck off Noob! Welcome to the board!

Now to your question, I believe those are pretty much universal. Just make sure you have the correct grip size before you buy. I have a chrome one, not sure who makes it, the only marking on it is an M V E inside a circle. I've had it for years and just transfer it to my newest bike. It started out on a Yamerhamer and has been on several differend bikes until I just put it non my VT800 last week.
I hope this helps.

I have a Vista Cruise on my ACE and it works well. I have found I actually like using a throttle rocker more than the throttle lock. The rocker will only run you $10.

Do those throttle rockers work pretty good? I've seen 'em but never tried one.

Well since Honda dealers sell an aftermarket Lock that they don't like and won't install. They say problem is you need to cut 1/4 in or so off throttle handle to make it work.... Also sometimes the rubber grip underneath is too thick. They will not install the aftermarket product they sell. They say 75% are returned.
So does the throttle rocker work very well. I don't mind installing that either but seems to me that the rocker would always be in the way by being strait up when you are idle, ie...sitting in traffic or crawling along on the freeway? What type did you purchase..........
Thanks for all responses
Alan

I have loved having the throttle rocker. I have never noticed it to be in the way but that would be different for everyone I guess. I am changing to custom grips and I have thought about removing the vista cruise while I am doing the change. My only concern is whether the rocker will work. I will let you know once I get the grips changed. I am ordering the grips tomorrow so hopefully I will get them next week.

If I remember right the Vista comes with 3 rubber strips of different thickness'. You use the appropriate one depending on the diameter of the grip you have. That acts as the friction parts of the lock assembly.

Or you could pick up the Brakeaway cruise control. I have one on mine and love it. The nice thing about it is that it will disengage itself when I apply the front brakes.

I like the brake away It looks nice. It also looks like it would work better to me. I guess that is the difference you get when you pay more than $30.

That's the biggest drawback to it. But it works great.

The rockers a good too. I put the Kuryakyn throttle boss on mine. Works pretty well when I don't have enough open road for the cruise control

Was'nt that about $39.00 and you had to buy the grips also?

I don't think it was that much, but you do need the ISO grips for it
