hey guys,
anyone ran into this problem?
i replace my brake line with a barnett braided cable, added fluid, but the brake handle is does not have any pressure. (loose)
were the bolts that came with cable too short?
what to do, what to do?
appreciate the help
thanks

Did you bleed your brakes?
After replacing the lines you need to bleed the air out of the lines. A vacuum bleeder would be a good investment. You can manually bleed your brakes, just takes some time.

manually would be pressing and releasing the handle for awhile?
vacuum would be good idea...

If you don't have a bleeder you can use a plastic hose into a resivoir of some sort to catch the brake fluid.
Connect the hose to the bleed valve on the front brake
squeeze the brake lever, open the valve 1/4 turn and close it. (Hard part is, do not release the brake lever until the bleed valve is closed........so have an extra set of hands) Release brake lever slowly and wait a few secs after it's fully extended.
Repeat this until there is no more air bubbles showing in the bleed hose....oh yeah, use a clear hose. Make sure that the brake resivoir is full and does not empty or you'll draw in air and have to start over. So refill as required during the process.
Using a vacuum bleeder is a lot easier .

Bleeding any hydraulic system involves opening/closing the bleeder valve. Usually located on the caliper.
Have you ever bled the brake/clutch system on any other vehicle?
Dude, sounds to me you have air in the line. If I were you, I would re-bleed again. You can let it gravety bleed before start pumping the handle and opening the bleeder on the caliper.

i bought a vaccum bleeder @ auto zone,,,,
hooked it up and all the bubbles are out and then tighten the bleed valve, but the handle is still not as tight as before, kind of loose,,,
would i have to ride a little on it?

Hopefully you repeated this procedure more than once. Sometimes you can have air in the line but it takes a few tries to get it out. Riding it should not make a difference. I did have a case (on a car) where the incorrect line was installed and the pedal was soft. On another ocassion, a defective brake line was installed and the same happened.
Just some information.
