Well, I'm expecting the call to come pick up my new bike Monday or Tuesday ('06 Aero). I already know the stock exhaust has gotta go. I think I'm gonna go with Cobra drag pipes, although the dragsters aren't bad either. From reading the forum I see a lot of people really like burbs; I just think they may be a little louder than I'm looking for. I'm also thinking about lowering her a bit. Looks like scootworks are the people to see for that.. Oh yeah, I gotta jet her to go along with the pipes. I guess I'll just get the stage 1 kit from cobra to do the trick.
I haven't decided if I'm gonna do the work or have the stealership do it. I hate to pay $60/hr labor, especially when that's $$ that could be going towards a new seat, lights, forward controls, or a long list of things... I haven't really worked on bikes much, but I have spent plenty of time under the hood... I can always pull my tail b/w my legs and call a family member for help (harley rider). He'll be glad to help, and give me crap the whole time about buying a honda.
Anyway, I'm really glad I found this forum. I enjoy reading all of the threads, and I've already learned a ton!! I have a vision of what I want my bike to be, and I hope you all don't mind me sharing my ride with you..

Woooooo hoooooo, I finally got my bike late last night. It was my wifes B-Day, so I had to leave immediatley after having it delivered. (I made them deliver it to me for the inconvience of having to wait for 3 different tanks to come in..... long story). Over lunch today I ran home and jumped on her. She now has 13 miles.... I had to come back to work:cry:. So she's sitting out in the parking lot calling my name, meanwhile, I'm in my cube typing this. I think I should just go ride. It is supposed to rain around here for the next 4 days. We really need the rain to help with all of the fires we have been having, but why, why does it finally rain the week I get my new bike??? It hasn't rained in months... I think I'm gonna have to take out a little early... Today is a good day. I was able to put the FIRST 13 miles on my new girl, and W.S.U. beat Seton Hall, and won their first NCAA game in 25 years.!!! I'll post some pix tonight. She's still stock, but she's mine.

Yeah, I am going to do the work myself. I really enjoy that feeling of accomplishment when I get done building/fixing/designing things... Plus I need to get it done so there is some AERO representation around here. Seems like everyone is partial to the SS with chopped fenders... Nothin against that, just not my flavor. I like big fenders, whitewalls, slammed on the ground... Got lots to do, just need to get the parts past the wife

I hear that nibs gettin'em past the Wife, my wife didn't pay much attention when the first small packages hit, 3 the first week but when it came to 1 every other day she flipped, Do yourself a favor have the stuff sent to the Job

I found the best way possible to get all the parts my little heart desires, without any complaining from the wife.... I bought her the car she's been wanting for a year or so. Now she'll be happy, and won't say anything about any parts I buy, that is if I can afford any now.....

Now if your avatar is your bike presently then you've already purchased the single most expensive item EXHAUST, at least it was for me, then it was shocks that was next on the list, now custom paint would be #1 if your doing that as far as expense

No, that one's not mine... I wish it were. I actually tried to buy it, but was unsuccessful. So I went out and got a brand new one! Now I can make it exactly as I want. I am waiting on my Cobra drag pipes as we speak. I also am planning on an air kit, but I still can't make up my mind on which one. I like the hurricane and tornado, but can't beat the cool factor of a hypercharger. I saw one guy that had his bike, or his and another 750, dynoed with the tornado and hypercharger, and hypercharger did not do as much for performance as the tornado did.. Either way, once I get the pipes, air kit installed, and jet her, I will be looking at shaving the rear tag mount, gettting white walls, and perhaps some saddle bags... Long list of wants, but some just don't fit well together.. Story of my life.

Our group all got Vance & Hines ... we pulled the baffles out, removed the fiberglass packing and reinsterted the baffle. It makes a nice difference.

Finally got my pipes... Picked up the jetkit and K&N filter today. Hopefully this weeked will allow me enough time to get 'er done. Have a honey do list that has to get done before I can start on my toys .
Ran into a little extra $$ and am trying to decide if i want to get a scootworks lowering kit or not. I'm just not sure. I really like the look, but don't now if 1.5 is enough, but afraid 2.5 may be too much??? Also unsure of what, if anything, to do with the front end. I've searched a bit, and seen some folks just leave it be, and think it is fine. When I look at my bike, it looks pretty even right now. I don't want it to look whacked with the ass end on the ground and nose pointed at the stars.... Seen some others that replaced some spacers in the trees or something??..?? What do most of you do?? Just leave it??
One other ??. I already scrape my pegs at stock height. If I go lower seems like this may become more of an issue. If I get some forward controls, will that help at all??

How's the bike coming Nibs?
I haven't done a whole lot to the front end of my bike yet. I've been looking for grips - I like the Kury ISO's but EVERYBODY has them so I've resisted buying. Hubby saw the grips on the Rune which we both liked and they will fit  so I'm thinking about taking the plunge to get them.
Thinking about floorboards, driving lights, and a few other odds/ends. I could put a radiator cover on mine but I'm not sure about it. I have Linby Bars and getting that grill in there looks like it's going to be tight. Plus most of them are polished stainless and I don't want the extra work...would rather have chrome.
Trying to keep mine as retro looking as I can so I've been real choosy and taking it slow but I'll probably start buying more bling pretty soon.
Post some pics when you can.

I still haven't gotten shit done... :pissed: I've been working a ton, and it looks like I may be going to SanDiego on Tuesday.. My boss just called and told me to expect to be leaving on Tuesday... My wife isn't too happy about it.. We've got kids, so it screws with her schedule if I have to go out of town. It's good for my career though.
Anyway, I have my pipes and jet kit, just haven't started on it. I almost ordered the 1.5" scootworks lowering kit for front and rear 3 days ago, but I keep dragging pegs as it is, so I'm not sure I want it lower; guess I could just slow down:laugh4: na... I think the next purchase will be bags. I really wanted to keep it a smooth clean look, but damn I need somewhere to put shit.
As soon as I wash it, I'll take some pix. I need to take some for before and after the pipes are on anyway.

dragging your pegs is a bad thing, and you are going to lower it more?, i wouldnt, saddle bags are a nice thing to have, but if you add more weght, with the lowering kit..............

Hey Ramiro,
The pic on my avatar is an ACE I unsuccessfully tried to buy. I really love that bike. It is the only reason I looked at a Honda in the begining. I'm not sure where he got the tires, but I can ask him. I know I've been looking for white walls for my Aero, but only found a few options, and none are the exact size on my bike. If I find out about the tires I'll let you know.

So, can you fit a 160 80 15 instead of a 170 80 15?what do you think?........of course you can, BUT the handling will be different, the narrower tire will give it the 21 inch tire look, but cornering will be affected.............:grin3:
