So you wanna paint your bike, but you don't have the guts to do it yourself? You don't trust a shop near you, and you would rather a fellow shadow brother do it.
I am an estimator at a body shop in the VA Beach area of Virginia. Our painter has many years of experience painting everything from hot rods to custom drag bikes. I'm sure I can dig up some photos from him to give you an idea of the work he can do.
We are looking to expand our services, and my first thought was to offer paint jobs to my fellow shadow riders.
Solid colors will be around 450 bucks, add another 75 for metallic.
We can do flames, airbrushing, stripes, scallops, you name it. Of course this will add to the cost, and I will have to discuss with my painter before quoting.
The paint will be Dupont Base/Clear that we use to paint the cars, not some cheap crap from Maaco or Earl Scheib.
We can offer a lifetime warranty against cracking, fading, peeling, and chalking. However, if the bike does not have factory paint (ie you already rattle canned it and decided you hate it, or has been painted by somebody else), the cost will go up in order for us to extend the warranty. This is just because it is necessary for us to strip back to bare metal or plastic in order to ensure our paint has a good base to adhere to.
Any questions, feel free to PM me and I can give you a personal quote for a paintjob. It's up to you to figure out shipping the parts to us, but I can help you with recommendations on how to pack up your parts.
